BON TEMPS GRILL
Read moreMoved in the former premises of the Blue Dog Cafe, Bon Temps Grill is a gourmet address that never stops. We come here for its delicious appetizers like the fried alligator with Bang Bang sauce (we love it!) or the fried crayfish and jalapeno fritters with remoulade sauce. It is also here that the locals come to taste one of the best gumbos in town, reminding them of the traditional family recipe. Nice selection of fish, seafood and grilled meats, not to mention a well-stocked bar with a number of Louisiana spirits.

Their cuisine is simple, but oh-so-tasty, and features classic Southern Louisiana dishes. Boudin or crawfish balls, alligator po-boy, seafood gumbo, crawfish etouffee and fried seafood are all on the menu. The burgers are highly recommended, especially the blue cheese burger or the one with fried crawfish. A good address at low prices!

A must try is the couvillion, a Cajun fish and seafood stew. The chocolate and chicory pie is a must.

Run by native Hawaiians, this small family restaurant offers traditional dishes: lomi lomi salmon, kalua pork or even pork or chicken laulau. It is simple but consistent and well prepared. It is possible to eat there but we advise you to go a little further to find a spot with a view. For dessert, don't miss the Haupia Pie with coconut and sweet potato, a real treat.

It is also the cheapest dish, ideal for small budgets. Note that the line forms every day at the entrance of the restaurant from 11 am, anticipate.
BOUCHERIE

The name of the restaurant refers to the Cajun tradition of butchering pigs, which are killed according to a ritual and shared between neighboring families to feed themselves throughout the winter. Pork is on the menu, but so is smoked Wagyu beef brisket, applewood-smoked scallops and pan-fried swordfish. We recommend the chef's 5-course menu to fully discover the flavors of the American South.

ELIZA RESTAURANT & BAR
Read moreHere is a restaurant that respects its terroir, sourcing from farmers and producers in Port Allen or St. Francisville. It must be said that Sally and Russell Davis are not at their first try and it is in 2015 that this Baton Rouge restaurant was born (the name pays tribute to their daughter). On the plate, a contemporary Creole cuisine (crawfish and catfish etouffee, shrimp & grits, gumbo ya ya, etc.). For a fresh dish, we recommend the watermelon salad with arugula, cucumber, mint, aged feta and red onion.
Prime 115
Read moreJust across the street from City Hall is this great steakhouse that locals like to frequent regularly. It's more upscale than a traditional Texas steakhouse, with tasty and creative dishes full of flavor and color. We highly recommend this address if you are looking for good meat, accompanied by fresh vegetables and a good wine. The cuisine is light and you don't leave with a bloated stomach. They also serve good salads such as the burrata and tomato salad, topped with walnut pesto.

If the mushroom risotto fritter is still on the menu, go ahead with your eyes closed... Best restaurant in town.
NEW GLARUS HOTEL

Everything is there: excellent cheese fondue, raclette, cheese and charcuterie platters, and other authentic Swiss dishes with unpronounceable names that will delight the taste buds of meat and cheese lovers. There are two areas: the small room towards the entrance, very cosy, which houses the bar (ask to be seated there); and the large room at the back, less charming but friendly because it often hosts musicians.
DEEP CREEK SEAFOOD
Read moreWe go to this restaurant to eat delicious seafood in all simplicity. The tables are not covered, the atmosphere is friendly, the service without fuss, and that's exactly what pleases me. We will enjoy with fish and chips as much as with leg crabs, served warm and brushed with butter... We appreciate the fact that we can eat outside when the weather is fine. A good little address.
COURAGEOUS BAKERY & CAFE
Read moreJust a stone's throw from the subway exit, here is a warm enclave where you stop to recharge your batteries before starting your visit to the neighbourhood. MASON'S FAMOUS LOBSTER ROLLS

The lobster roll, a dish made from lobster and hot dog bread, is the house's specialty, and can be enjoyed in various forms: cold and with mayonnaise, hot and glossy butter or, for those who are not afraid to mix the types, with bacon, tomatoes and salad. The only criticism we would have to make of the lobster roll is that it's not big enough!
