HAMMAM ÖMERIYE
Read moreThis hammam (Χαμάμ Ομεριέ/Hamam Omerie) is a place to relax and unwind. Various services are on offer: Turkish-style baths, different types of massage (alone, as a couple, with tea or a bottle of wine...), therapies and body treatments. The services are quite expensive, but you can just pop in for a drink. The building is superb. It was once a 14th-century Frankish bath and took on its present form in the early Ottoman period. The hammam was renovated in 2002. It reopened to the public in 2014.
HAMMAM HAMASI KORKUT
Read moreLocated almost opposite the Turunçlu mosque, the Hamasi Korkut hammam (Hamasi Korkut Hamamı) dates from the 17th century. It owes its name to the former Korkut Effendi district, which has long been part of Iplik Pazarı. Outside, these Turkish baths do not look like much with their Pepsi Cola sign. Less touristic than those of Büyük Hamam, their interior is well preserved with the three traditional spaces (rest, hot bath, warm bath). Domes with small openings allow rays of light to filter out and get lost in the vapours.
