What budget for activities and outings Cyprus?

Access to the main museums and archaeological sites is free of charge on 18 April, the International Day of Monuments and Sites. Otherwise tickets often cost half price in low season.

Free activities are rare and especially complicated in big cities. But you only need to travel a few kilometres to be able to go hiking or mountain biking. Not to mention the possibilities of swimming, never far away..

Globally and unsurprisingly, everything is cheaper on the North side, as long as you buy authentic items (Turkish lukoums, carpets and kilims...).

Going out doesn't have to be expensive. Many students, for example, take advantage of cultural events (exhibitions, concerts...) offered in many bars for the price of a drink. Festivals are also very affordable.

What budget to eat Cyprus?

In the South as well as in the North, a "gyros" (or "Greek" or "Turkish" sandwich) will wedge you in for a small price. Otherwise, the taverns serve rather cheap traditional dishes, with additions around 15 € per person.

Attention: coffees are not given in Cyprus, at least not in the South. But as in Greece, customers drag on and the €4 coffee lasts a long time! In the North, Turkish coffee is cheaper (and can be drunk just as slowly...).

What is the budget for accommodation Cyprus?

The best idea, when you have a choice, is to travel in June or September, when prices are melting or haven't yet inflated. For lower prices, you can also cross the green line and stay in Nicosia North for example.

Travel budget Cyprus and cost of living

If you don't have to travel during school vacations, go in May-June or September-October. The advantage is threefold: cheaper, less crowded and cooler too! During this period, you can expect accommodation at €50-60 a night, except in Nicosia where it's still a little more expensive.
