The shop is entirely dedicated to the brand created in Benevento in 1860 by the Alberti family. Strega means "witch" in Italian and recalls an ancient legend that made Benevento a gathering place for the witches' Sabbath. The Strega liqueur is obtained by distilling seventy herbs and spices from all over the world, including saffron, and Alberti desserts. Their speciality: nougat, with almonds, lemon or chocolate, but also cakes such as panettone and filled chocolates.

The advice is very pertinent, and you get the feeling that it's a passion they're sharing with you. The end of the morning or afternoon continues on the terrace, with a selection of charcuterie and cheese platters. You'll be told where each item comes from, the name of the producer and so on. We really liked the wine selection and the warm, authentic welcome.

This kind of store is rather unique in Gonnesa and we took the opportunity to do our souvenir shopping there.
