Bakeries and cafeterias usually open around 7am and stay open continuously until around 8pm. However, there are no hard and fast rules here and to avoid going out of your way, it's best to make a quick phone call. Bars usually open around 6-7pm and close around 2am, or even later for some, especially in season and on the Pas de la Case side
The price of gourmet breaks and alcoholic beverages (especially beers, in the few Irish pubs in the principality) is generally lower than in France
Andorra grows vines, mainly Alsatian varieties because of their ability to acclimatize, and produces some wines in small quantities (and therefore rather expensive!). On the other hand, it is quite easy to find ratassia, a local nut liquor.
Children are generally accepted everywhere where a bar permit is not in effect. However, they can sometimes be accepted on the terrace of a bar until early evening.
While smoking is prohibited in gourmet shops, cafés and bars, smokers are generally welcome on the terraces of these establishments.
