Read moreIt is inside the lobby of the Hotel Les Closes that we find the very cosy restaurant specialized in vegetarian dishes (one of the only ones in the principality): Noranta Tres! The address offers breakfasts as well as brunches or lunches (unfortunately, the restaurant is closed in the evening) elaborated with ultra-fresh and organic products. What to fill up with energy in a healthy, local and conscious way! A very nice discovery.

Read moreVery popular in Andorra, this restaurant has been able to attract friendship and the confidence of all social classes thanks to its excellent service and its unquestionable good layout. The map, very extensive (and in 8 languages, please), favours fish and seafood (lobster, lobster, lobster…). The bar offers a wide range of appetizers and tapas served throughout the day. The garden is also worth a glance: The patches have had to crackling to cover the walls of thousands of photos.

Secondly, the food in this borda, located between Canillo and Ordino, is very good: in fact, the traditional dishes are honoured here and the famous mountain trinxat is the king on the menu. But you can also enjoy the numerous braised meats or the carpaccios. Don't hesitate to try the calçots if they are on the menu (depending on the season): this vegetable between the onion and the leek is a delight! A typical address in the region.

Read moreBetween Soldeu and El Tarter, the Borda del Rector has a long-standing reputation, as it was the first in Andorra to be transformed into a typical restaurant in 1968. As always, a warm rustic decor of stone and wood, quality cuisine with traditional Andorran, French and Spanish recipes on the menu, from trinxat to foie gras and pig's trotters. Some outstanding dishes, a wide choice of wines, but also, the plus of this borda, a relaxation room with sofas in which to digest in peace!

Meat grilled over a wood fire (rib of beef) and Andorran soup(escudella) with onion gratin. For the rest, the menu is quite varied: escalivada (grilled vegetables and anchovies from l'Escala), top quality Iberian ham, mountain rice. Incredible desserts and impeccable service.

The extensive menu offers paella, hamburgers, wood-grilled meats, lamb chops, truffade, hearty salads and homemade desserts (the profiteroles are gargantuan). The atmosphere of the Carlit is very warm, the owner circulating from table to table joking with the guests. It feels like a holiday!

Read moreThe Kamikaze Surf Bar (KSB) is a trendy place in Pas de la Casa where you can have a drink or eat in a young and relaxed atmosphere. You can eat hearty grilled meats here: you can choose the size of your steak, the entrecote comes in L, XL, XXL (700 grams!). From time to time, the party is in full swing, especially during the season, and every second Friday of the month (Happy Chic evening), a bottle of champagne is offered for every bottle purchased! Nice atmosphere and beautiful setting.
L'ERA D'EN JAUME
Read moreThe food is good in this borda next to the church, and the two small rooms quickly fill up. The menu displays specialities of braised meat, delicious pigs' feet, snails, partridge, finely prepared bull's tail and other lamb chops... The homemade desserts are particularly recommendable here. The meals are copious and of good quality, and the service is very pleasant. Keep a close eye on the prices though, as the bill tends to go up very quickly. Good food though.

The menu of the day, served at lunchtime during the week, is a pretty good deal here. Two terraces.

On the first floor, you'll find the grocery store, charcuterie, pata negra, Iberian hams, cured meats and a fine selection of Spanish wines, Rioja, Ribera del duero... On the1st floor, a shopping area for cigarettes, alcohol and other tax-free products... And the2nd and3rd are beautifully decorated dining rooms with plant walls and comfortable armchairs, serving braised meats and Spanish specialties. There's also a lovely veranda area in front of the restaurant, which seats 70 guests. Open all day from breakfast to dinner. An entrecôte at 4pm after skiing? Why not! A nice surprise to discover.

The menu is wide: from the beef filet to the foie gras de la casa and the grilled octopus with paprika, there is something for everyone. A trendy and festive address!

The Refugi Fra Miquel, a true Andorran institution, is located at the level of the equally famous Envalira pass. You arrive directly from the slopes on your skis (that you leave outside...), and there super atmosphere to start the party with tapas, DJ, mojito or house cocktail. We love the music of the 1980s and 1990s remixed. Superb terrace and rooftop with an incredible view.
On the kitchen side: tapas, pizzas, and copious plates well furnished. We are dazzled by the pink led candy of the window which plunges us directly in the atmosphere. Here we speak English and Catalan of course! Bravo to Miguel and his team.
KATHMANDU RESTAURANT & HOTEL

The restaurant offers pizzas, grills and well-cooked dishes, and we tried some hearty tapas, and meat à la plancha that melted just like you like it... Great value for money. A real find and this year's futés favorite. Plus, a superb rooftop overlooking the mountains. On the hotel side, a cozy 3-star at the foot of the slopes.

Taken over in 2018 by Vincent and Sonia, two Bretons known to smart kids, this place is a must: exceptional cuisine, well-prepared local produce and braised meat specialties with generous beef ribs. Attentive service and a decor that blends Andorran tradition with contemporary chic. Quite simply, we love it!
