We could probably suggest some renovations to the owner, but the tavern is still worth a visit!

A popular tavern, despite its location in the city's tourist artery. There are Greek dishes, very well prepared, copious and tasty. Located in the part of the old town, near the wall, among other establishments, this tavern remains, in our opinion, one of the best. The local workers go there for lunch, a sign of quality! The meat, like the fish, is very good there. We recommend fried red mullets and beet salad. The dessert is offered by the owner, very nice!

Located on the Vourkari waterfront, overlooking the Aghia Irini peninsula, this fish tavern has a mysterious name: "The Nine Girls". Under this beautiful veranda, you can enjoy tasty mezzes of seafood, fish and grilled meat. Try the caper fava or scallops... A little away from the bustle of Vourkari, on the water's edge, with a pleasant and flowery decoration, it is bordered by trees. Fresh fish, well presented plates. Excellent cuisine and impeccable service. Beautiful wine list, with some organic references.

We love this café-restaurant, located on the sea front, close to the landing stage (enough to guess the arrival of your boat) but not too much taken by the crowd and the luggage. The view is clear on the sea and the menu allows you to find what you want at any time of the day. From early morning, you can have breakfast or just a coffee or a snack when leaving the Bouboulina Museum. At lunchtime, the menu is varied and cosmopolitan, with mezzedes and salads or burgers. There are also very good desserts.

A little set back, in the calm of a pretty indoor garden, Apostolos, the owner, offers fresh fish but also very good mezzes made from seafood. The inner courtyard faces a beautiful painted boat set on a flowerbed. The dishes are well presented on plates that are difficult to finish. Two dishes to recommend: grilled squid (medium!) stuffed with feta cheese and tomatoes and pepper, and boiled salicornia, homemade seaweed served with olive oil from the Peloponnese and half a lemon from the garden.

Chic, To Sik in Greek, is a restaurant that combines traditional Mediterranean and Cycladic cuisine with influences from oriental or European gastronomy. There is everything from meat or vegetarian dishes, and even gluten-free. In the kitchen we try to use as much local produce as possible: most of the vegetables come from the garden. White and green, the tavern matches perfectly with the colours of the trees that embellish the village square where we dine. The quality of the service makes us recommend the place.

A family tavern run by Christos Kaloyiannis and one of the few places in Skiathos where you can still enjoy good traditional dishes such as fish with tomato casserole or lobster with zucchini in tomato sauce. It is a vintage jewel, beautifully located at the end of Megali Ammos beach with a verandah overlooking the islet of Tsougria. We also love the homemade tarama with mushrooms and garlic, scallops stuffed with spinach and seafood spaghetti. And of course, the vegetables are from the garden.

The restaurant has been enlarged in a large flowered garden which is a delight for cats. Anthy and Alkiviadis, the owners, share the tasks to guarantee an impeccable service for the lady and an enchanting setting for the gentleman. Two dishes stand out, the bar ceviche with dill and tomato served with pita bread and the moussaka whose presentation is unique and original: the eggplant is cut in half, the beef stuffed and the béchamel poured on top, all surrounded by... homemade chips that add the missing touch of salt to the masterpiece.

This restaurant, whose name literally means "Taste of Rhodes", is located in the new district that rises, on the side of the new marina. You will discover the traditional cuisine of the island at its peak. Here, there is no compromise on product quality and the culinary heritage of Rhodia. Try cheese croquettes, parsley and garlic cooked in the oven, or beef cheek, deliciously prepared! It is also an opportunity to taste the local wines of which Rhodes has the secret. This pleasant taverna is ideally located on the north coast of the "dolphin's tail", on the small beach and anchorage of Limnionas. To reach it, leave the main road at around Camel Beach or arrive from the plateau of Kefalos, the upper town. The solitary landscapes you pass through offer 360° views of the Aegean. At the end of the road, this small restaurant specializes in seafood and fish, which are very cheap here. Very pleasant for a break in the shade during the day, or to enjoy the sunset in the evening.

It was the only beach bar when we passed through, not unpleasant. This beachside café-bar-snack bar serves snacks, drinks and ice creams. You can eat on the covered terraces around the bar or on the beach itself. Nikos, the owner, is charming and attentive to both locals and tourists who want to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the magnificent beach. In season, beach volleyball competitions also enliven the beach, as do concerts at the end of the day.

In addition to the fish and seafood that are here, there are traditional Cretan dishes, economic menus, many vegetarian dishes. Desserts and bread are freshly prepared in kitchen by the owner himself. It is copied in a beautiful setting facing the sea. You could be cooled by the downside of the servers on the terrace but the food does not disappoint. Very good value for money. It's the kind of place where you feel good and where you're happily coming back.

Kostas opened this waterfront tavern in 1998. Here you can enjoy the tasty dishes of Dora who works in the kitchen. Everything is extra fresh and delicious. In the quiet, we can only recommend you to come and enjoy the warm and serene atmosphere that reigns here. One last recommendation: come at the end of the day to see the sun set in the distance. As you leave Skala on the Netia peninsula, this traditional tavern serves some of Skala's finest cuisine. This refined Mediterranean restaurant with a discreet French touch is beautifully set on a terrace overlooking a pedestrian street in Parikia. In cooler weather, you can also choose to dine in the sumptuously modern interior, with works of art hanging on the walls. We loved the spicy ceviche, the delicate clam pasta and the puffed chocolate cake, hidden in a cloud of barbapapa! The Porto Carras 2021 white wine also deserves a special mention. An ideal restaurant for a romantic dinner.
