After 3 days of turmoil in Heraklion, here I am finally on one of my favorite beaches to start a one month mission with the Greeks (not to say with the Cretans dreaming of independence too).

It must be said that the Cretan capital has been through some tumultuous days when hats flew in all directions and clouds purged on helpless tourists. Heraklion is a transit city because the neighbouring airports are still not technically ready to receive live international charters. As a result, from April in Heraklion, even the luxury hotels are sold out and the big car rental companies are struggling to satisfy their customers. This is why an exodus to the west or east was urgently needed. Today I opted for Agia Pellagia, a few kilometers from "LA" big city. Here, 20 minutes away from Heraklion there are rooms for 30 € per person with breakfast. The beach is sublime, there is no crowd in the restaurants (13€ the grilled sea bream with accompaniment in the restaurant Le Gourmet where I already found my friends). There's no picture, I'm staying here a few days before attacking Matala.
