Getting around by bus and coach Portugal

The main Portuguese bus company offers routes in Portugal and Europe. Its domestic routes serve many destinations from north to south. The network is very good and the buses are very punctual. Viseu is served by the Marques bus company, which offers intercity services in the Viseu area, as well as routes to other towns such as Mangualde, Nelas, Seia, Gouveia, Oliveira do Hospital, Celorico da Beira and Guarda. The company also provides transport to schools. In urban transport, Marques has a partnership with the municipality of Gouveia to operate the city's bus routes. In addition to its regional services, Marques offers express services to the RNE and makes international trips in collaboration with the Intercentro and Internorte lines. The company has a fleet of 58 coaches, the average age of which is around 11 years. It employs 71 people for logistics, fleet maintenance, etc. Marques is renowned for its competitive prices and the quality of its services.

Near the zoo, the bus station has replaced Arco do Cego (which has become a parking lot/loose lot near Saldanha). Scotturb also provides connections to Cascais and Estoril (buses Nos. 417 and 418), while No. 403 passes through Cabo da Roca.

Mafrense is now part of Carris. Several routes are available: Sintra, Mafra, Lisbon, as well as the various surrounding beaches. Several lines run to Ericeira, and are more or less direct. We recommend lines 2801 and 2803 or 2740 and 2741. It's not very well signposted in Campo Grande, so don't hesitate to ask someone. Be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes early, especially in summer when there's a long queue to board the bus. Please note that buses leaving from Ericeira may leave early.

The TST (Transporte Sul do Tejo) bus network is now part of the Carris company, and the entire fleet has been changed, now proudly sporting black and yellow. It's not easy to find your way around the website to find out about bus routes and timetables. You should also be aware that the drivers don't always stop at stations, so be sure to signal at the bus stop and on the bus when you want to get off.

This application allows you to access all the intercity bus schedules of the western region (between Leiria and Lisbon, from north to south, and as far as Tomar and Santarém in the east), and to buy your tickets. This will save you from waiting in line at the ticket office. The app is only in Portuguese, but quite intuitive. After registration, you will have to fill in your details, you don't have to fill in everything. When you buy a ticket it is stored in "bilhetes".
