AÉROPORT DE PORTO (AÉROPORT FRANCISCO SÁ-CARNEIRO)

Airline and services
4.3/5
25 reviews

It is ultra-modern and rather small because it has only one terminal. There are many flights to France: Paris is connected to Porto several times a day by Easyjet, TAP, Transavia and Vueling. Ryanair offers low-cost connections to Porto from Beauvais (connected to Paris by bus) and various provincial cities: Marseille, Lille, Bordeaux, Saint-Etienne and Rodez. Easyjet connects Lyon to Porto, and Transavia also offers seasonal flights from Nantes.

AEROPORTO HUMBERTO DELGADO DE LISBOA

Lisbon's only airport. It has a high level of traffic, which has increased in recent years. The arrival in Lisbon is often very impressive, don't miss it from the window! Often, after the meanders of the Tagus and the estuary, the plane flies over the city very close to the houses, as if it didn't really know where to land... And if there is a little wind, the landing is memorable. From the airport, you can then travel to the city by aerobus, metro, bus or taxi.

Porto, the city of the famous wine of the same name, is full of wonders to discover. For starters, there's nothing like enjoying a glass of port in one of the many bars on the banks of the Rio Douro, while taking in the magnificent views of the colorful buildings that stretch along the river. A mini-cruise on the river is another way to discover the city from another angle. Then lose yourself in the city's old quarters and step back in time. Wine lovers can also enjoy tastings in downtown Porto, while those with more time can explore the surrounding vineyards. Locals also recommend discovering the city's street art on a free guided tour, as well as enjoying the many bars and restaurants on Rua Galeria de Paris and Rua Cândido dos Reis. Porto has a good public transport network, but it's also pleasant to get around on foot to discover the city's different districts.

TAP is Portugal's national airline. There are several daily flights to Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux and Nantes. Prices are very attractive in low season, as they are similar to those of low-cost airlines, with much better service and cabin comfort. And because it's a national airline, there's less risk of delays in high season. If you have checked baggage, it's worth checking the ticket prices on their website. Their loyalty program allows you to deduct 5 euros per journey.

AIR FRANCE

Airline and services

For those who prefer not to travel with a low-cost airline, Air France is a good option. The airline operates direct flights from Paris, but flights from other major French cities such as Nantes, Bordeaux, Lyon and Marseille are non-direct, via Paris or even Amsterdam. On the other hand, flights depart from Orly or Roissy. This allows you to choose according to where you live. As with other airlines, you will have to pay a supplement for checked baggage.

TRANSAVIA

Airlines

Several return flights from Paris Orly 3, Nantes and Lyon with an increased frequency in high season. Transavia is one of the main low-cost companies to get to Lisbon. In low season, you can take your plane tickets up to 10 days before departure without any real price increase. Pretty good to know for a last-minute stay. In general, the flights have few delays (except in high season) and the service is correct. The airline is also less careful about carry-on baggage than other low-cost airlines.
