SERVICE VOLONTAIRE INTERNATIONAL
Read moreFounded in 2009 by former volunteers, Service Volontaire International (SVI) is an independent Belgian branch of the Vietnamese NGO SJ Vietnam. It is recognized by the Ministry of Youth of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation as a Youth Organization. In just a few years, the association has enjoyed dazzling success, enabling it to open a French branch with offices in Lille.
SVI is actively involved in international exchanges in 85 countries around the world, in both hemispheres, including France and Belgium. It sends and receives volunteers as part of international work camps set up by local non-profit associations. Through its actions, SVI campaigns to defend a vision of international volunteering that is non-commercial, civic-minded and accessible to all, in opposition to the excesses of voluntourism.
Every year, Service Volontaire International gives over 1,000 young people the chance to experience solidarity abroad, and welcomes over a hundred foreign volunteers to France, Belgium and Quebec, free of charge.
On the site, you'll find a search engine enabling you to select the projects that interest you. The association also offers online training and language courses. There's also a tab providing all the information you need to prepare your departure and stay abroad.
