The Mira public observatory is managed by a non-profit association created in 1967 by Father Pieraerts. Over the decades it has been able to evolve and develop until today it has become an essential meeting place for those interested in astronomy, whether theoretical or practical. In addition to its domed instruments, the observatory has exhibition and multimedia rooms. And as the team of animators is attentive and educational, the visit is instructive for an individual as well as for a family with children.

PLANÉTARIUM DE BRUXELLES

Astronomy

The planetarium has the merit of combining two projection technologies on its dome: classic with an optical Zeiss projector and digital with a dedicated simulator. The interest of this double process: displaying a natural rendering of the celestial vault with realistic point-like stars, while allowing the projection of synthetic images and other pre-programmed animations. The sessions are adapted to all audiences (under 6 years old) with successful tales (30 minutes long) or much more specialized films: solar system, universe, space conquest.
