TUI AIRLINES BELGIUM NV

Airlines

TuiFly is part of the long-established German TUI group, considered one of the world's leading tour operators. TuiFly has a strong presence in Cape Verde, particularly on the islands of Sal and Boa Vista, where it carries thousands of passengers in search of radiant winter sunshine. 2 to 3 flights a week from Brussels to Boa Vista, several flights a week to Sal. What's more, the flights are direct, at prices that are often unbeatable, and would justify French passengers making a slight detour to the flat country, if need be.

TAXIS BLEUS

Taxi and VTC

The Taxis Bleus are the main competitors of the Taxis... verts. With 300 drivers criss-crossing the capital, finding one is not too complicated. You can order your taxi by phone but also via their website or even better, via their app. Like almost all major private transport services, Taxis Bleus offer a flat rate service for a trip between the airport and the city. Knowing the traffic jams in Brussels, this is often a good plan. Just mention it when ordering your coach.

TUI FLY

Airlines

TUI fly Belgium, the Belgian subsidiary of the German TUI Group, operates between two and seven routes a week all year round between Brussels-National and Tirana airports. Convenient for tourists from Belgium and northern France, this route is mainly used by the Albanian diaspora. For the record, Albania's national airline Air Albania (airalbania.com.al) offers very few services: only to Italy and Turkey (in 2024), and the service to Basel-Mulhouse seems to have been suspended.

SNCB À BRUXELLES

Train

It's a semi-secret even for the inhabitants of Brussels, but the region has no less than 35 stations, a real little RER in miniature, and they are all connected to bus, streetcar or metro stops. In the vast majority of cases, jumping on a train will save you up to half the time to get from the center to one of the confines of the capital (Uccle for example). The trip planner of the STIB (Brussels public transport company) will inform you about the different options available to you, including train trips.

BRUSSELS AIRLINES

Airlines

Brussels Airlines, which rose from the ashes of the national carrier Sabena, is the main airline linking Brussels Airport with the rest of the world. Connections to France are mainly to cities in the south (Lyon, Toulouse, Marseille, Bordeaux, Nice, Ajaccio, Figari), but also to Nantes and Strasbourg (due to travel between the two European parliaments) and to Geneva in Switzerland. A must is to come across one of their customized "Belgian Icons" aircraft: Rackham (Tintin), Trident (Diables Rouges), Aerosmurf (the Smurfs), Amare (Tomorrowland) or Bruegel.

ANTWERP TAXI

Taxi and VTC

Uber has recently set up shop in Antwerp, but good old-fashioned cabs still handle the majority of metered journeys. You'll find cab ranks at Sint-Pieters station, Dampoort station, near Korenmarkt and at Woodrow Wilsonplein. Be sure to book in advance, though, as cabs take a long time to come and are often in great demand, and it's not uncommon to wait 15 or 20 minutes for one to arrive. Hotel receptions are used to this and can take care of it for you.
