Recruited on American whaling ships in the ^19th century, the men of Corvo first met Scottish sailors who taught them how to make their famous traditional bonnet, complete with pom-pom. Little by little, it was worn by every man on the island. When it fell into disuse, one woman decided to bring it back to life.
