Read moreTypical and memorable! It was in 1945 that Rémy de Haenen landed the first plane on the island. The 650 m long runway does not allow large aircraft to land. Only small planes carrying around twenty people can perform the maneuver. The companies serve Princess Juliana airport in Sint Maarten and L'Esperance, Grand-Case airport in Saint-Martin. The rotation takes around 10 minutes. It is also possible to fly from Guadeloupe (45-minute flight) or Antigua, notably with Saint-Barth Commuter.

Landing is an experience in itself. St Barth Commuter was founded by Bruno Magras and Michel Martinon in 1994 with the aim of opening up the destination and making travel easier for locals. The company operates rotations several times a day, and night take-offs are available 7 days a week for medical flights to Saint-Martin, Guadeloupe or Martinique.
