Railway companies Indonesia

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), the national railway company, operates an extensive rail network in Indonesia. On the island of Java, the network connects cities such as Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya and Yogyakarta. Sumatra is served by rail lines reaching cities such as Medan and Palembang. Although Bali does not have its own rail network, it is possible to travel by train to Java and then to Bali by other means. Kalimantan has its own rail network, and Sulawesi is linked by train to Ujung Pandang and Manado.
