Yes, Pif-Paf is a 3-in-1 establishment, a bar, a restaurant and a hair salon all in one. On the bar side, the great classics are perfectly mastered. On the kitchen side, opt for the house specialty. The black burger with squid ink is a best seller - the famous Reykjavík which combines Atlantic herring, salted cucumbers, pickled onion and mini apple pancake. Serve it with a very good Bloody Mary.

Still little known because it has just opened, Depo, with its 11,000 ^m2 (!), is the largest food hall in Europe. Located on the site of a former tram depot, you will find 120 farmer's stalls, 75 fast food corners, shops, restaurants and even a concert hall in this giant food market. You will have a (difficult) choice of specialities from all over the world. We can't advise you enough to go to this unique culinary bazaar: you'll come away amazed, with a full belly and stars in your eyes.

The cheburek, like the brick, is a fried laminate filled with meat. Okay, Dr. Dukan doesn't recommend it before bedtime, but it's good, hot and portable fast food. In this restaurant (which is a bit like a train station buffet), you can find a whole crowd who come quickly to eatone of the best cheburek in town for a few rubles. Do not look for a sign that says "Volchek", all establishments are called "Bulochnaya №" followed by its number (Булочная №..). It's the friend of the fringe and the nocturnal! Kroshka Kartoshka is a sign that you will find everywhere in town: in tourist places and outdoors, and elsewhere. The recipe is simple: large baked potatoes in an alu paper which are composed according to 4 bases: Greek (with fresh cream and pickles), butter and chives, butter and cheese (our favorite and that of most aficionados) and finally butter and meat. You then dress the beautiful meat, vegetables, condiments and sauces at the choice, and accompany the whole of a good beer or lemonade. Much more effective than a Red Bull and much more comforting and tasty! Ah, for your ruling, Kroshka Kartoshka means "Little Potato." But, as you will have understood, this is an emotional turn that confines itself to the litote.

A true Petersburg institution, this canteen specializing in pirozhkis (filled rolls) has been open since 1956. The director Valeria Nikolayevna, despite her venerable age (she stopped counting at 75), has been faithful to the post since 1983 and strictly follows the traditional process of their production. The dough for the pies and pirozhkis is always freshly made in the morning, the classic pirozhkis with meat or cabbage are succulent and generously filled. So local!

The spot to enjoy good food on the go(streetfood as we say nowadays) oriental, Maghrebi and Jewish. To taste on the spot or to take away. On the menu, the must-try dishes: falafel, shawarma, tchakchouka and much more. In the evening, especially on weekends, the café becomes a popular bar for young people. The newest establishment of the same team, Babaganoush, is similar to Bekitser but in a "pita bar" version. Bekitser has several spots in the city, the addresses are available on the site.

On cold days in the northern capital of Russia, nothing warms the hands and heart like a hot soup! This small café offers some very good ones as well as sandwiches (ciabatta, roll or classic sandwich) and coffee to go. The menu changes daily and offers 5 soups, each with at least one vegetarian, one meat broth and one exotic, with herbs, spices and other tasty additives. Very practical for a quick, healthy and inexpensive break.

An island of calm, good taste and well-balanced small dishes. Vai Me is part of another Georgian fast food chain, which, as you can see, is quite popular in the capital. The strength of this chain, which makes it one of the best in the capital, is a very good quality/price ratio: its cuisine, khachapuri, khinkali in mind, its staff helping out with tourists, its maps translated into English (with even gluten-free choices!) and a friendly setting. In short, it's a smart choice between two museum visits! We like the cheese khachapuri with an egg.

Although it doesn't look good at first glance on its very classic façade, this small restaurant specialized in streetfood from all over the world (especially the famous Berlin kebab) is known for its nude industrial decor mixing concrete and bright colors (very instragrammable), its affordable prices and a very good coffee. You will find there as well Australian long black as Russian raf. Some very simple desserts will help to make your little coffee break a delicious stopover for an early supper in the middle of the crowd of regulars.

"Lapin, cours" is a small and very nice pastry shop, a rare species in town because it is 100% vegan and certified without animal products. Sweets or large cakes, macaroons, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, pastries ... the menu changes every day. And if you are diabetic or gluten intolerant, the "rabbit" takes the lead to offer you delights adapted to your diet. Breakfasts (also vegan) are served every day until 9pm.

The new Russian gastronomy challenges the French cuisine! If a few years ago, its weak point was the bakery-pastry side, this is not really the case anymore. This chain (pronounced "Bouchée") is the proof. Everything here is appealing, from the homemade sandwiches to the sweets. Try the famous Raspberry Venzel (Вензель с малиной) which is a real treat! Most of the stores (more than 30) offer breakfast and ready-made meals, to be enjoyed on the spot or taken away. Practical, beautiful and good!
