Shakespeare Co is an international chain that surfs on an "old Europe" decor whose every chandelier, armchair, curtain, etc. is handmade in the company's workshops. The decor is planted and induces an immediately cosy atmosphere, boosted by a staff in the small care. In Oman, the store is located in the new Al Mouj district, where it has a nice piece of terrace. The menu offers a wide choice of dishes, sandwiches, salads, pancakes, gourmet desserts and a fine selection of fruit and/or vegetable-based drinks.

Situated in the extension of the opera house, of which it shares the same refined and graphic architectural style, Al Angham is an ode to Arab-Omani cuisine in its refined version. The elegance of the setting imposes and underlines that of the dishes and plates, like this chic version of the Shuwa that you will taste here with a silver fork and not by hand as tradition dictates. You are received by a staff in traditional dress, as in an oriental palace, and the first-class service contributes to this beautiful and typical culinary escape.

Lit with braziers, set on the beach facing the Gulf of Oman, this is the seafood restaurant of The Chedi Muscat hotel, graphic and sublime like the whole establishment, with tables just a stone's throw from the water, a menu of delicate dishes, beautiful plates and great wines. Fine de claire, Royal Beluga caviar, lobster bisque, prawn ceviche, seafood platter, fresh fish of the day cooked and seasoned to order... everything is delicious. In the evening, the place is perfect for a marriage proposal or for the chabadabada...

It's the only restaurant of its kind in Muscat. We are in a jungle, from the graphics to the Indiana Jones-style decor, especially at the entrance of the restaurant, a little less in the dining room, which is a shame. A bit disappointed also that the theme is not really pushed into the plates since the dishes remain classics: salads, burgers, pizzas, grilled meat and fish. To sum up, the address is nice for families with youngsters who will love the path through the jungle and the tropical showers to water the trees.

This restaurant is just a small piece of sidewalk, set up on the terrace, with fresh juices in XXL version and an improved snack menu... In short, just what you need after a shopping session at the souk or after a trip to the fish market! In the afternoon, the terrace is in the shade of the building so we enjoy it and ride a tree trunk stool... or we settle inside in the atmosphere of the few pieces of decoration imitating museum. Mezzés, salads, sandwiches, fish or meat grills, some local dishes.... Everything for everyone.

The decor is a little more gleaming than average, but make no mistake: this is the most modern, Western-style restaurant in town, and the one to go to if you're tired of the coffee-shop atmosphere. But make no mistake, the menu remains that of a good coffee shop at a very low price, with the usual range of fresh juices and Arab and Indian dishes, plus French fries, rice and salads. But the main attraction is the lobster, prawns and fresh fish, depending on the catch of the day.

It's an opportunity to cross the psychedelic lobby of the very trendy and brand new W and have fun deciphering the constant nods to Omani culture and landscapes. Decorated with mirrors from floor to ceiling, Wet Deck is one of the variations and is an ode to the vibrant reflections of the sea and this curious abyss of Bimmah Sinkhole (1 hour from Muscat). On the flat side, we surf on an international and consensual menu: Mediterranean salads, butcher's cuts, grilled fish, burgers... Atmosphere willingly festive on weekends.

It's one of Muscat's oldest Asian restaurants, large, with two red and gold floors, but arranged in such a way that privacy is preserved thanks to a set of partitions. After crossing the small bridge under the eye of the golden oryx, you can sample three types of cuisine at very reasonable prices: Chinese, Thai and, more atypically, Mongolian, in the form of a live barbecue where you choose the ingredients to be grilled - meat, fish, vegetables, sauces...

With its terrace overlooking the sea and sheltered from the wind, Kaia is a delightful new eatery that stands out for its calm, chic atmosphere and sober, modern decor. The interior features a magnificent tree in the middle of the room, adding a touch of immediate zenitude. The young, dynamic staff are on hand from early morning until late at night, and the varied menu offers a wide choice of breakfasts, burgers, sushi, salads, freshly squeezed fruit juices and a selection of cakes for tea-time.

This recently built luxury beach club harmoniously combines style, music, a fine clientele and cuisine based on fresh produce... At weekends, Muscat locals flock here to enjoy the ambiance, the pleasant shaded terrace, the panoramic open bar overlooking the sea, and the large beach right in front. Cosmopolitan but above all marine, the menu offers seafood, calamari, fish of the day, as well as pizzas, burgers, salads... to be accompanied by a glass of wine, as Dunes has an alcohol license. Not cheap, but excellent!

Mexican cuisine. This is one of Muscat's fashionable places: a group provides the atmosphere at 22 pm! You can enjoy…, Enchiladas, Extras Nachos and other Taquitos, Sopa albondigas or Espetada… The hotel is a great place to stay, and the best Margaritas in the country.

Two rooms with Asian decor, tables of red. Chinese With: Chicken to pineapple or cashew nuts, Cantonese rice to shrimps, etc. Excellent location, very popular by locals. Fast and efficient service. Dishes to take.

Portuguese cuisine. Their speciality is grilled or fried chicken. Do not miss the inescapable "Chicken Espetada": . chicken of sauce for 24 hours. Friendly location, at rasionnables price. 

This restaurant looks like a cafétaria, located on the floor. The menu is complete: Shrimp salad, roasted lamb, dessert sherbet, etc.). Reasonable price, but rather slow service. 

Framework of choice for this Arabic style coffee directly by sea: tents, cushions on the floor, local tables and wooden chairs, completely renovated in 2012 and now extended from an air-conditioned room with large windows… to keep the feeling of the waves even in full cagnard! A really attractive and pleasant corner, especially in the fish and seafood barbecue, but where you can find everything: snacks, fruit juices, varieties of tea, etc. To start the day, eat a bowl of farm milk, and to close it, taste the authentic Welcome Arabic coffee prepared in a true charcle, as in the past (des will be proposed in the future). During the day, the family atmosphere as the children love playing in the sand while the parents sirotent a juice to two per hour! And the game nights, live the grills before the giant screen!

Lebanese cuisine. Excellent fresh fruit juices and hearty dishes. Good value for money. A sober, unpretentious framework. Arab restaurant chain, also includes Al Khuwair (24 487 200), Al Shatti Qurm (24 605 735) and Seeb (24 424 343).

Chinese, Thai and Japanese cuisines. À la carte, lemon chicken, seafood noodles and any other Asian setting. Thursday evening, huge sushi buffet for 10 RO per person (+ taxes): an appointment for all lovers of the genre! Also teppanyaki tables in the evening from 19 am to 23 pm.

Japanese specialities. Beautiful setting facing the sea. Open kitchen where to admire chefs prepare shushis. For réfractaires with raw fish, several other dishes of international cuisine on the map: pizza, salads, Lebanese dishes… Delicious desserts and impeccable service. A very design terrace extends the restaurant and on the upstairs it is possible to smoke an outdoor shisha. In the afternoon, you can enjoy large ice cream or simply enjoy a drink in front of the beach!

This is the main restaurant of the Grand Hyatt Hotel, where the various buffets are served in the evening. Very spacious room, separated from the terrace of the park with absolutely impressive windows. The place is mostly frequented by expatriates and locals on Friday, for the weekend brunch! In addition to a huge choice of dishes (barbecue corners, risotto, tandoori dishes, sushi and sashimis, etc.), countless activities and care for the youngest: games in the gardens, special buffet for children, video games in free service, course preparation courses, etc. Relaxed and qualitative!

On the top floor of the Al Falaj Hotel, overlooking the city and the surrounding mountains, this is one of the best and oldest traditional Japanese restaurants: wood everywhere to feel good, a teppanyaki counter for the show, some nice carpets for dining on the floor in rooms separated by partitions. Really, you would think so, especially since the Chef is Japanese and the staff is Asian. A la carte" offers all the classics of the Rising Sun cuisine and some less popular dishes. A sure bet!

A huge terrace by the water, tables and wooden benches to drink fresh fruit juice or to eat biriyani, Chinese noodles, grilled fish or pizzas, such is the setting of this restaurant more lively in the evening than during the day when men come to smoke shisha. In the calm, the terrace spreads out at the foot of the Al-Ayjah Plaza hotel, with a relaxing view of the local Lake Geneva, this lagoon that has been built over the centuries by so many dhows thrown at all the seas of Africa and Asia.

Under the leadership of French chef Thierry, this contemporary brasserie combines the elegance of a 5-star hotel setting with fresh, well-prepared produce. You go to the oyster and fish bar and order a fresh catch of the day cooked to your taste: steamed, salted or grilled with a lemon fillet or a sauce of your choice. The menu offers a range of Mediterranean-inspired dishes with a special corner for demanding carnivores. In the warmer months, dine on the terrace by the glow of the braziers, in the oriental courtyard and its ornamental pond.

In the elegance of the Al Husn palace, the no less elegant Sultanah, all in length, reveals an original nautical design, with its wave-shaped ceiling and light tones - white, beige, blue, wood. As on a liner, you can choose to eat on the "deck", i.e. on the terrace, facing the blue of the sea cut by strange rocks. The cuisine, creative and modern with no claimed affiliation, offers a palette of flavours from here and elsewhere like a culinary cruise. Given the setting, an elegant outfit is in good taste.

A pleasant, sober, classic and recent room for this well-kept restaurant on the site of the Al Hoota cave. At the map, Lebanese mezzés, day soups and salad salads and a choice of Lebanese, Turkish, Omani and Indian dishes in resistance dishes (chicken or beef Shawarma, historical, curries, etc.). Burgers-fries for the récalcitrants of exotic cuisine, fresh juice and ice. Also a large terrace for days of softness.

Pakistani and Indian cuisine. The map includes curries and grills. We advise Tandoori Chicken: a delight!

300 metres from the fort, run by an Iranian man and his wife, here is a real neighbourhood bistro-style restaurant: not too big, with personal touches in the decoration, the boss at the reception and the dishes simmering in the kitchen. In a cage whose doors are willingly opened at off-peak times, tamed budgies converse, that's the story. At the table or sitting on the floor on carpets, one discovers or tastes dishes of Iranian cuisine based mainly on mutton or chicken. For those who are interested: saffron from Iran sold locally.

In the dining room, the decor is reminiscent of New York with its industrial loft look, its raw materials, its suspended LED bulbs and its open kitchen. It's lively, young, trendy, with teams that are on fire! On the terrace, you can enjoy the seaside: the black furniture is beautiful under its white umbrellas, and you can curl up in the sofas. On the menu: burgers of all sizes and all sauces, and pizzas, tapas, ribs... Open continuously, the place is also pleasant for a drink (without alcohol), a coffee, a chat.

Welcome to the world of Fauchon, so chic! Very girly decoration in pink tones from floor to ceiling... and it looks great! The place is very popular with the ladies who come for the macaroons and pastries but also for the "Made in France" menu for lunch and dinner. The products are imported and the recipes are the same as in Paris. Notice to the amateurs in lack of French delights! The brand couldn't find better than the very ice-paper Galerie de l'Opéra to make its classes in Oman. On the strength of its success, it opens at the Muscat Grand Mall.

Just like the W, the decor and the kitchen are just wow! Stylized in the smallest details Ba ban pays tribute to the beating heart of Shanghai and the vibrant quay of the Bund. Subdued atmosphere, red banquettes, dark woodwork, golden umbrellas... exoticism is everywhere. The exceptional quality of the food and products prolongs the trip and offers a daring fusion cuisine (ah these shrimp and truffle dim sum!) or traditional dishes prepared with great art, like this Peking duck to be ordered 48 hours in advance - an emotional taste memory!

Situated on the beach at one end of the marina, The Bank Beach Club is THE trendy resto-bar-lounge in Sifah. Banal in the West, the concept is innovative in Oman and has, in addition to an open-air bar-restaurant, a huge infinity pool lined with palm trees, overlooking the Arabian Sea on one side and the Hajar Mountains on the other. The Asian-inspired menu also offers some more international dishes. A great wine and cocktail list and a great atmosphere on weekends when famous DJs come to set the clubbers on fire.

This Italian restaurant in the quiet heart of the Al Mouj marina is part of a chain headquartered in Naples, with 7 outlets in Italy. It's easy to see why the quality is top-notch: here you can enjoy real pizzas, local bufala, lasagne with real flavours, spicy tiramisu... Even the ice creams are homemade. As the waiters are Italian, the atmosphere is inevitably charming and relaxed. You can choose to sit in the dining room near the little grocery corner to salivate in advance, or outside on the large terrace facing the boats.

Why on earth would you come and eat in the parking lot of a petrol station, even when the station is located on the seafront, on the coastal road leading to Atana Khasab, at Bassa Beach and on the border of the Emirates? Because it is the best Yemeni restaurant in the area, the only one where you can enjoy a Mandi: this famous rice and spice dish with marinated chicken or beef. For the rest, the menu is as large as the room and serves a little bit of everything, including juices and takeaways. A few boxes with carpets and cushions where you can eat Arabic food.

Dinner in Bukhara is like going on a trip. In addition to a menu featuring authentic North Indian cuisine, the setting is also a change of scenery, Bollywood-style in a chic and contemporary version. The kitchen is open and glazed, the chef and waiters are all Indian, all very professional and willing to advise you in the choice of dishes and the intensity of the spices. Eating with your hands is encouraged, aprons are then offered. Special mention for the Bhatti Ka Masala, a lobster marinated in Indian spices, grilled and smoked...a delight!

Passing through any façade of the building, one comes across an impressive entrance, a porch entirely covered with brilliant mosaics that leads to a no less majestic room whose walls are covered with frescoes and whose ceilings are worked. Welcome to Iran! Under the guidance of a local chef, the menu is rich, varied and typical: you can savour a moutabal as in the country, delicious chicken skewers marinated with labneh and saffron, divine kebabs. The only thing missing is a glass of Shiraz to accompany the dishes, which are also very hearty.

Close to the Mutrah souk, it's the perfect place to sit on the terrace facing the corniche, or in the cool air-conditioned room, to drink a fresh fruit juice or the famous Omani lemon mint. This small coffee-shop also offers a simple but varied menu at attractive prices, with wraps, keftes and kebabs, as well as more traditional cuisine with a wide choice of mezze, shawarma or mix grill. Ideal for enjoying the corniche atmosphere.

This open-air restaurant, located in the heart of the Grand Hyatt gardens, is ideally situated between the hotel pool and the beach. Some snacks, salads and light dishes are proposed during the day to nibble in a bathing suit between two dives, or to sit down for a real good lunch (varied and provided menu). In the evening, the menu offers Southeast Asian specialties, cooked by Indonesian chefs: green papaya salad, seafood dumplings, sushi and sashimi (including a platter for 2), rolls, Nasi Goreng, Pad Thai, Beef Rendang...
