It is the hotel's main restaurant, open to all for breakfast. The choice is given between a menu of salads, mezzés, pastas, pizzas, ready-made meals, etc. or thematic buffets for those who are very hungry or who like to taste everything. The local clientele is loyal, willingly elegant, and often interested in the fine wine list.
LOBNAN AL AKHDHAR
Read moreThis Lebanese restaurant, well known to Sohar locals, serves its perfectly spiced grilled fish in a cheerful, noisy dining room. There's a Family corner, for those who've integrated this behavioral practice. From time to time, a horn sounds in the street and the driver's order is taken directly from the lowered window. The Levantine flavors are as seductive and fresh as ever: salads, vegetable purées and these spicy brochettes are a delight. No alcohol, but you can be comforted by an excellent minty lemonade.
SEA-GIANTS
Read moreLocated in the reserve's visitor centre, the only restaurant within several kilometres, the Sea-Giants welcomes turtle customers and passers-by with teeth. International and local dishes, ready-made menu, buffet.

We are on the roof of the most graphic and glamorous building in the area, all wood and white, with long pools of water for a touch of freshness. In the evening, when the weather is fine, the menu unfolds its Italian classics in a Mediterranean lounge atmosphere that's wildly seaside: mixed salads, cheese boards, homemade pizzas... accompanied by a good glass of wine!
ZAKI FRIED CHICKEN
Read moreThe uncle from Kentucky just has to behave himself, Nando's can cry into his Mozambican handkerchief, here is ZFC, local grand-vizier of roast poultry, supreme mamamouchi of the kebab and a ribbon of Indian, Arab and Chinese dishes! Easy to find because it can be spotted from the main road with its colours, in grey and blazing red. We stop quickly near the roundabout to order takeaway or we settle inside, in the large air-conditioned room where it's a McDonald's-style takeaway! Zaki is a landmark too well known to be ignored.
TAKARA
Read moreA zen and contemporary elegance bathes this Japanese restaurant dressed with wood from the floor to the walls. The setting is immediately chic and warm, and dimmed in the evening. The entrance opens onto a lounge area with an elegant bar, for a cocktail or a sake to be chosen from the collection. The menu is faithful to the specialties of the country of the Rising Sun and also offers a choice of menus allowing you to discover a multitude of flavors.
TOMATO
Read moreIn the heart of the Intercontinental hotel's wooded gardens, this large and beautiful terrace struts its stuff on a deck, in the shade of a providential pergola. Just a stone's throw from the sea, you'll find yourself in a haven of tranquility with a view of the flowers and the pool, and the song of the birds as a symphony. And you will give me a Campari!

On Friday evenings, the place is transformed for Sabla Night: a fabulous oriental evening with live cooking stations hosted by Omani musicians, amid the halo of myriads of lanterns and the notes of local musicians. Everything contributes to the magic of the moment: the scent of spices mingling with the waft of incense, the diversity of dishes.

JABAL AL SAFA COFFEE SHOP
Read moreAs is often the case all over the country, the colourful front of the coffee shop in Mirbat, at least the one that seemed to us to be the most correct and busiest, contrasts a little with the old decayed and ochre coloured houses of the village. If you're on an excursion or a stroll and you don't plan to sit down to eat, you quickly stop to order fresh juice and sandwiches; otherwise, you stop in the charming room, which has the advantage of an air-conditioning system.

THE JUNGLE
Read moreIt's the only restaurant of its kind in Muscat. We are in a jungle, from the graphics to the Indiana Jones-style decor, especially at the entrance of the restaurant, a little less in the dining room, which is a shame. A bit disappointed also that the theme is not really pushed into the plates since the dishes remain classics: salads, burgers, pizzas, grilled meat and fish. To sum up, the address is nice for families with youngsters who will love the path through the jungle and the tropical showers to water the trees.
