Climb aboard this cable car that offers a superb view of Zacatecas and the surrounding area. This marvel, of which the inhabitants of the city are so proud, was built by Swiss from October 1978 to May 1979; completely renovated in 2017, it connects in 7 minutes the Cerro del Grillo to the Cerro de la Bufa, and overlooks the city from a height of 85 meters at one point of its 650-meter route. You can walk back down to the cathedral along a specially prepared path. Both practical and pleasant.

The Mexican capital's subway is a French achievement. The first line was inaugurated in September 1969, and since then, the network has continued to expand. The metro remains the fastest way to get around, especially during rush hour. However, it is often necessary to take another means of transportation once you get off at a given station.

This is a system that is not only environmentally friendly, but also very attractive for tourists who can now explore the city by bike.

METROBÚS

Getting around by streetcar

In 2005, the Mexico City government introduced the metrobus, a new transportation system that combines bus and streetcar features. It has seven lines, but only five of them are attractive to travelers. The price of the metrobus ticket is slightly higher than that of the subway, but the ride is more pleasant because you can see the city from the car. Buy your card at the vending machines located at the bus stops of all metro stations. The card is also valid for the subway.
