So don't expect too much comfort or luxury at Las Magnolias. Its location, right in the center of Barahona, and its price, however, make it an option to consider if you want to save money. No on-site breakfast, but a cafecito on the first floor will get your day off to a good start.

The option of the Colonial Hotel as accommodation is only ideal when you have to spend a night in Santiago. Just next door, the same owner has the Colonial Deluxe, more comfortable... but more expensive! Nevertheless, the reception is pleasant and all the points of interest of the city are nearby, so travellers on foot will appreciate it.

El Topiaco is a small, clean and quiet hotel with a restaurant serving good Dominican food, located a few steps from the Basilica of Our Lady of Altagracia, in the heart of downtown. The clientele is mainly Dominican, which allows travelers to meet people who are probably more authentic than in many places on the island. The rooms are simple but all have air conditioning, a television and a bathroom with shower. El Topiaco is a perfect address for a night on the town.

The Don Carlos hotel offers about fifty simple and comfortable rooms, with a slightly outdated decoration, but all equipped with television, refrigerator, bathroom and air conditioning. Guaigui is the name of the Dominican village where Joel is originally from. He made with his hands the six cabins of this eco-resort opened in 2020, based on recycled materials... and the result is amazing! Unusual housing, self-sufficient in energy, with a small natural swimming pool and a garden that is none other than the vegetable garden! The harvests of this last one, combined with that of the henhouse, compose the breakfast. Each hut is named after one of the family members who lives here! Beautiful and promising address!
