Read moreTalampaya National Park, located in Argentina's La Rioja province, is a natural and cultural wonder. Covering 215,000 hectares, it was declared a provincial park and then a national park in order to preserve its paleontological and archaeological wealth. The site is world-renowned for its remains, including rock art and dinosaur fossils. It has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The park is 210 km from the city of La Rioja, 30 km from the village of Pagancillo, 60 km from Villa Unión and 130 km from Chilecito. The park's landscape is exceptional, with a majestic canyon of red walls and wind-eroded rock formations. The region's climate is arid and semi-desert, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures reaching up to 50º in summer. Sun protection and water are recommended when visiting the park.
