GARE DE CONSTANŢA

Trains from Bucharest are many: 8 per day in winter and 20 per day in summer. Count between 2 hours 20 (Intercity trains) and 4 hours of journey. They sometimes leave or continue towards Mangalia. The city is also well connected to the rest of the country, particularly in summer, when night trains train holidaymakers. Links to Buzău, Tulcea (1 per day, 4 hours drive), Galaţi (2 per day, 4 to 6 hours of journey!), Oradea, Braşov (2 to 4 hours per day, Cluj, Arad, Iaşi, Suceava (1 per day, 8 hours of travel), Budapest, etc. Local trains. The many trains (6 to 20 per day depending on the season, 1 hour at 1 hour 20 of route) connecting the city to Mangalia stop at all the coast stations or some. Find out if your station is on the list.

GARE DU NORD

Railway station

The train is a good way to get to and from Bucharest. The North Station (Gara de Nord) is well connected to the capital's public transport network. There are many small shops, cafés, fast food outlets, as well as vending machines, press offices and a left-luggage office (depozitare bagaje).

Inter Regio (IR) trains are the fastest. Bucharest is also connected to several foreign cities: Budapest, but also Vienna and Chișinău, as well as Thessaloniki, Sofia and Istanbul in summer.

GARE FERROVIAIRE

Train

It's about 1 km from the center, on the other side of the river. Sighișoara is located on the line connecting Bucharest to Oradea (then Budapest, for certain routes). So it's easy to reach these towns, as well as Brașov (6 trains a day, 3h to 3h30 journey time), Sinaia (2 a day, 4h20 journey time), Mediaș (7 a day, 30 to 40 minutes journey time) and Cluj (3 a day, 3h30 journey time). A small local train, slow but offering pretty landscapes and villages, reaches Odorheiu Secuiesc, in the Sicilian country (3 per day, 1h45).
