Railway station Moldova

Ungheni railway station is located near the bus station and many shops (hotels, shops...). This station is an important railway node and, on the spot, the gauge of the axles is changed (the gauge of the rails in the former USSR is wider than in the rest of Europe). Trains departing from Ungheni allow to reach Chișinău, other Moldavian cities but also Iași, in Romania. The price of the train ticket is modest and it is an interesting way to discover the country if you have some time.

The train station of Călărași is in the east of the city, 200 m from the bus station. It's a nice little building in old style. There are regular connections to Chișinău (46 km away) and other places in the country. The price of the train ticket is low, but for reservations, timetables and destinations, please refer to the Moldovan Railways website or ask at the ticket office at the train station. From the bus station you can also reach the capital or other cities.
