For a week, experienced helmsmen and ordinary yachtsmen are transformed, by force of circumstance, into freshwater sailors! The teams, from Africa and beyond, luff, tack and sail on the waves of this immense body of water, stopping off at famous beaches such as Cape Maclear, Senga Bay, Likoma and Chintheche.
MONT MULANJE PORTERS RACE
Read moreOriginally reserved for porters accompanying tourists to Mount Mulanje, this rocky 25 km race winds its way through rivers and gorges to the Chambe plateau at an altitude of 2,500 m. Every year, the trail attracts hundreds of athletes from all over the world. Hikers complete the route in 12 or 13 hours, while runners finish this extreme race in 2 or 3 hours. The event is usually held on the first weekend in July.
