The first factory, still in operation, was established in Gisenyi, on the shores of Lake Kivu, in 1959. It produces Primus, Amstel, Mützig, and of course Heineken. A factory in Kigali, in partnership with The Coca-Cola Company since the 1970s, has enabled it to increase and diversify its production of carbonated drinks (Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, etc.).
