With the Dolphin, the crossing takes around 3 hours 45 minutes, while with the Maria Galanta it's just 2 hours 45 minutes. However, double the price! You'll need to arrive early to check in your luggage. Drinks and sandwiches are sold on board. Beware of seasickness, as the boat sails against the current towards Port-Gentil, making for a rough ride. The return to Libreville is more peaceful.

Only a few restaurants remain, the others having been relocated in view of the forthcoming rehabilitation of the port, which is now in an advanced state of disrepair. The Office des Ports et Rades du Gabon (Oprag) plans to modernize the port by renovating the lanes, building a shopping center and developing a mini logistics base. It's a project that could change the face of the city, but it's a long time coming.
