Its aim is to offer solutions to improve the daily lives of people with hearing impairments, and to promote communication. The association is run by some fifteen volunteers, in partnership with the City of Nîmes and the Conseil Général du Gard. It offers an adapted reception area, educational and fun meetings, prevention and awareness modules on deafness, as well as friendly and cultural outings. SURDI 30's aim is to change social attitudes so that deafness is recognized as a disability in its own right. The association is open to anyone with an interest in deafness.
