Since its creation in 1913, Biarritz Olympique (B.O for Biarrots), a legendary club, has worn the red and white colors with pride. Having twice lifted the Brennus Shield before the war (1935 and 1939), the BO gave birth to Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque in 1998 in order to adapt to the new professional world. The adaptation was a success for the club, which was French champion in 2002, 2005 and 2006, as well as European champion (Amlin Cup) in 2012. The club is in the Top 14 for the 2022 season and back in the Pro D2 for the 2023/2024 season.

This emblematic venue, long home to the exploits of the OL (that was a long time ago...) has become the temple of rugby with the LOU. It would seem that Gerland is a success story for local sportsmen and women! In a district undergoing major transformation, the stadium - listed as a "masterpiece of reinforced concrete architecture" since 1967 - was designed by Lyon architect Tony Garnier and inaugurated in 1920. Official LOU Rugby store. A brasserie serves meals every lunchtime on weekdays and on match days. Adjacent to the stadium, the Ruck Hôtel offers great comfort with its bistronomic restaurant. And soon, a new nautical and sports center.

RUGBY CLUB DE VERSAILLES

Rugby

The French Rugby Federation says so through its campaign and many people think so: "Rugby is a school of life"; if this is the case for a large number of sports, it is true that rugby is a sport that requires cooperation, respect for others, courage, solidarity, tactical intelligence, initiative and a taste for effort. In Versailles, you can discover or continue to practice this sport. The rugby school welcomes more than 250 young people aged 5 to 15, girls and boys alike: for all the children in the school, you have to learn by playing and play by learning: "Rugby is a game where the pleasure is to play". The Versailles Rugby Club is a family-run club run by a team of passionate and motivated educators ranging from professionals to fathers of motivated families who have also received training. Of course adults are also welcome and have their own teams! Training is done during the week, games on weekends. For more information, visit the website or call the secretariat.
