La Mezcaleria-Bar Clandestino isn't a bar, quite the contrary. It's simply the bar of the chic 4-star 1K hotel, a temple of Peruvian culture in Paris. And it takes its name from mezcal, an agave-based beverage distilled at around 40°. This spirit is reminiscent of tequila. The bar at the Shangri-La Hotel Paris becomes the Bar Botaniste. A name that smells of nature... The idea was born in the mind of head bartender Arnaud Thirel, who wanted to pay tribute to Prince Roland Bonaparte, less well known to the general public than his illustrious relative, but who in his time created the world's largest private herbarium with 2,500,000 specimens.
