BLACK BEAR

Whisky bar
5/5
1 review

The Black Bear is, as its name suggests, a manly place where serious spirits are offered (because we don't treat good whisky lightly!). Sophie, a trained cellar master, and Clément will welcome you with warmth and guide you towards a spiritual elevation because it is sometimes quite an art to know how to taste and appreciate the fruit of an ancestral know-how. A hundred references of whiskies are facing you behind the bar, like mystical books to be deciphered and a wide range of rums, some quality vodkas and 16 draught beers from Belgium and Czech Republic are on the menu. This is not the place for a Bailey or a Ricard, a matter of honor and quality! Come for an initiation and an invitation to travel with a glass of Welsh or Japanese whisky (the Ryo Ma or the Penderyn) which will take you to peaty and iodized lands. And if what the bar offers is not enough, you should know that the place is also a cellar and offers for sale 250 references of high quality spirits that you will have difficulty in finding elsewhere. We recommend you the detour!

PADDY ROCK

Beer bar
4.2/5
5 reviews

Formerly known as Paddy O'Neills, this Irish-inspired pub with its distinctive facade has been a quasi-institution in Chailly-en-Bière for many years. Its owner, dynamic and friendly, is full of good ideas to celebrate in the evening, with rock, jazz or improv concerts, disco or 1980s evenings, football atmospheres thanks to the various screens arranged in the rooms, and many other surprises to discover according to the programs of the moment. The typical decoration with its batch of bars, stools and other barrels, serving as tables, is successful, and the presence of adjoining rooms allows everyone to enjoy the atmosphere, or even to privatize part of the pub as needed. In addition to a wide choice of beers and alcohols, Paddy Rock also offers simple dishes to eat on the go (plates of cheese, hams and bruschettas in particular). This establishment is a real favorite because it succeeds in meeting the challenge of suiting all types of audiences, young and old. Our advice: to keep up to date on the events scheduled, it is better to take a look at the pub's Facebook page rather than its website.

CORCORAN’S IRISH PUB

You have already been told about the other three Corcoran's that adorn the capital. It is therefore difficult not to find its account in this Irish pub, between the happy hour from 17 h to 22 h, its excellent salmon for whisky, the traditional Irish music concerts, DJ evenings, not counting the retransmissions of football or rugby matches on giant screen… This establishment located in White is perhaps one of the busiest of the four Corcoran's. party beats its full on the weekend evenings where the meetings can quickly follow…

CAMDEN PUB

Whisky bar
4/5
1 review

For some years, bosses have changed, but the key remains: beer, whisky and the warm atmosphere of a pub! Becoming Camden Pub in the summer of 2016, the former Paddy retains the essential: we talk and drink, not that the chairs are missing (the terrace is large enough), but the atmosphere is such during the sports retransmissions that it keeps us awake without noticing. A nice address, ideal for an evening between friends around a good beer!

KATIE DALY’S

Whisky bar
4/5
1 review

It is easy to find, because next to the town hall, and very recognisable by its doors with etched windows and its green including trefoil... Was the bike hanging from the ceiling served to Lisdoonvarna, whose management is indicated on a sign on the post is set right in the middle of the room? Perhaps the boat even made it possible to cross the Ocean... A heterogeneous objects of alba, neon signs boasting Guinness and Beamish framed with the newspaper cuttings, remember that here, you are in Ireland. The service is therefore done at the bar: eleven pressure and about as many whiskies can be enjoyed in front of the giant screen, while nibbling, or listening to the concert given every weekend...

CAFÉ SOCIETY

Wine bar
4/5
1 review

Located next to the Grand Square in a forgotten alley of the Old Lille, this address, almost hidden, is a true nugget. In this bar with New York's atmosphere of the 1930 s, everyone can find themselves, in the utmost discretion and decrepit. Inside, brick, cement, apparent beams and a superb golden copper bar. In the late afternoon or later in the night, we meet around a board board, listen to jazz concerts a glass of rum, whisky, wine or regional beer by hand. Anyway, you understood it, no prohibition here. At the Café Society we redo the world with a bit of nostalgia!

CÔTÉ BIÈRES CÔTÉ VINS

Beer bar
4/5
1 review

In the Halles de la Vie, it is one of the bars that cannot be ignored in Saint-Gilles. A bar-apéro doubled with a cellar. All the bottles from the cellar are available at the bar! Only products from the cellar are sold here. Other assets: a vast terrace as if sitting on the water at high tide, with a magnificent panoramic view of the river and the port, about 400 wine references, a selection of wines by the glass, 150 whiskies, 50 rums and 300 different beers... And to accompany all this, boards of cold meats and cheeses, to enjoy the aperitif.

THE BLACK PEAT

Whisky bar
3.7/5
3 reviews

While it is true that no bagpipe concert has yet been organized here, the place is still a perfect place in terms of local colour! Beautiful woodwork combined with a superb collection of paintings and old photos make the Black Peat a real Scottish-inspired pub. The most sceptical need only take a look at the whisky map: 111 references! On the beer side, the choice is also very wide, in bottle as well as in pressure. We sip all this in front of a football or rugby match broadcast or a good rock concert upstairs. Finally, for those who wish to eat, burgers and cheesecake are highly recommended here.

O’COLLIN'S IRISH PUB

Whisky bar
3.5/5
2 reviews

Its green facade and the barrel installed in front of the door: the traditions of the Irish pub are displayed. It is one of the bars where Avignon likes to party and where you know there will always be people no matter what day of the week. There are concerts, rather rock and sometimes folk, broadcasts of matches - football or rugby - and special evenings like St. Patrick's Day (of course!). The atmosphere is often overheated and the bells synonymous with tips ring out loud. Whisky lovers should take a look at the menu.

L'ÉTIQUETTE

L'Etiquette, a wine bar with an excellent reputation, is also open for lunch and offers its speciality: meat on lava stone. You come there first to enjoy a good glass of wine or a spirit from the beautiful selection, accompanied by a cheese board and cold cuts. The establishment has built its reputation on the impressive number of wine references. We are dealing here with connoisseurs and enthusiasts. It is also possible to take part in evenings with themed tastings. An excellent address!

L’ÉCHOPPE

Whisky bar
2/5
1 review

A festive place par excellence, this cocktail bar/tapas and restaurant, located in front of the Boyardville harbor, has become " the place to be" in Boyardville. The barmaids will take pleasure in explaining the composition of their mixtures based on whisky, cognac or rum, some of which have evocative names. For the courageous who will have been able to resist the very rich card of cocktails, there remains "the Chantaco" (without alcohol). L'Echoppe is also a place where one comes to attend many concerts. Friendly atmosphere guaranteed because here the staff is smiling!

D'ENFER PUB

Whisky bar

The D'Enfer Pub can take you to paradise... This is undoubtedly one of Grenoble's friendliest pubs. A pub with an old-fashioned atmosphere, with darts, table soccer and billiards. But it's the quality of the beer selection and the acoustic rock concerts that make this place so famous. The upstairs is a little low-ceilinged, but you can stay on the first floor to enjoy the warm ambience and share a pint, a terrible pitcher of planteur, cocktails or, better still, a pure malt whisky. It's the ideal place to privatize for a bachelor or bachelorette party. Good soundtrack.
