"Les montreurs d'images", an association under the law of 1901, have been installed since 2013 in the magnificent premises of the Studio Ferry, Place du Pin. The Art & Essai cinema program is magnified in this beautiful setting, former premises of the Jules-Ferry school. It is a magnificent cultural place, modern where stone and iron are combined. One of France's finest arthouse cinemas! With 7 screens housed in two buildings facing each other on both sides of rue Jeanne-Moreau, the cinema's programming is extremely rich. Foreign films are shown in subtitled V.O., and previews with actors and filmmakers are numerous, as are retrospectives and thematic cycles ("Cult Plans", Spanish, Italian, German, English-language film weeks...).

Since 1977, Nîmes cinephiles have had just one address: Le Sémaphore. This local cinema, a veritable cultural center, shows independent films in VO, documentaries, children's films... A fan of the 70 s and the films of Godard, Truffaut and co, welcome to the Grand Action, the establishment that loves the classics. Founded in 1970, this film belonged to the Action network, which proposed a policy of classic film reproductions in new copies in four cinemas (Action Schools, Studio des Grands-Augustins, Action Christine and Grand Action). Since then, two halls have broadcast exclusive American and classic films. The largest room, Henri Langlois (dedicated to the founder of the French Cinémathèque), is absolutely magnificent, with a screen of 10 metres and 223 seats arranged in a drawer. Formerly called Action Ecoles then the Desperdado, this beautiful establishment, opened in 1977 to showcase revivals of old American films, was bought by director Jean-Pierre Mocky. The latter, in addition to showing his own films, offered every day in both cinemas a classic French film, an American classic in VOST and a genre film in VOST. After a recent change of ownership, this cinema now specializes in revivals of old films, particularly American films in their original version. Festivals and debates are regularly held there, as at the Christine Cinéma club, these two cinemas being part of the same entity: the Paris Cinéma Club.

Behind a façade of old stone with a patina of time and adorned with a sign in gold letters is a precious establishment: The Christine Cinema Club, formerly known as the Christine and Christine 21 Action. Since 1973, two arthouse cinemas have been welcoming lovers of the 7th Art and cult films. The Louis XIV period entrance door is the symbol of this cinema made of finesse and passion. The programme gives pride of place to classics from all over the world, particularly American and European. Festivals and debates are regularly held there, as at the Ecole Cinema Club, these two cinemas being part of the same entity, the Paris Cinema Club.

Opened in 1940, in the Spirit of Modern Art, the Astrée meets current standards. Much more than a cinema, the Lux is a meeting place. Classified as Art et Essai, Recherche et Découverte, and Jeune Public, it defines itself as "militant", so fans beware! With three cinemas accessible to people with reduced mobility (even the smallest cinema in the world with only one seat!), blockbusters screened in their original version or small auteur films, evenings with film crews and previews, there's something for everyone! Inaugurated in 1960, Cinéma Lux also offers a video club, exhibitions and a cafeteria.

Since October 2022, the Le Méliès cinema has offered 3 cinemas with 80 to 300 seats dedicated to the 7th art, located in the Foirail cultural center. Certified art house, it programs national releases, retrospectives, heritage films, art house films and screenings for young audiences. Its excellent and eclectic programming, punctuated by previews and meetings with directors, will delight all cinephiles. Online ticket terminals are available at the cinema reception desk. There's also a convivial area with tapas and local drinks. Le Méliès is the place to be for lovers of cinema in all its forms.

Close to the rue de la République, this almost confidential but renowned art house cinema in Avignon, has an elegant lobby, all woodwork on a red background. A single room with 140 seats, the programming is rather limited, from 3 to 5 screenings during the day, this cinema welcomes the same type of films and the same public as its big sister with 4 rooms Utopia Manutention. You can sit down at Café Roma, the Manutention's restaurant, before or after the screening.

If there is a mythical place dedicated to the 7 ^th Art at a few feet from Saint Michel, it is the cinema Le Champo and its two rooms. Or how to feel in the shoes of a young festival in the heart of the New Wave… This mythical place of Art and Trial opened on June 22, 1938 at 18 am instead of a bookstore. After several months of renovation, this neighborhood cinema in the turbulent history reopened its doors in May 2011, for a new start. Opened in the heart of the New Wave (1969) in the restructured premises of a former cabaret, this unique room has 208 seats and everything has been renovated to offer better quality, comfort and hospitality for conferences and conferences.
