BD + CAFÉ

Comic book store
4/5
1 review

Repaire des amateurs de, the BD + Café is an important address in Lille. Franco-Belgian BD, comics, manga… the range is wide and you will necessarily find what you are looking for. Valéry and his team are, not only true passionate, but also excellent advisers. Since February 2016, a shelving of used albums has found its place in the basement. There are albums in excellent state, at low prices: the ideal to complete its collection at a lower cost. At the bar you will be asked to take a drink, reading one of the albums of the selection of the moment, made available free of charge. This place is inhabited by the BD, and beyond the books, there are also all these figurines displayed in the windows and the many derivatives that put water in the mouths of the passionate, and seem to give life to the greatest heroes of the 9 th art. Héros heroes when their cartoonists spend a few hours at a table of BD + Café for a signing session…

BAL LAURENT

Antiquarian bookstore

Amateurs of old books, rare collections, books of literature in literature, travel, religion, history of Savoy or elsewhere, the shop of the Place-Reine is a paradise. Just take the time to look among the shelving or ask the seller the rare pearl he knows to find in the pile of books. Go regularly to find the latest "novelties" of the bookseller that he uncovers in sales, estates, or others. Except for exceptional work, the bookstore does not buy to individuals.

LIBRAIRIE LANDRU

Regional bookstore

1 review

Would you like to visit Landru? No problem. The Jean Landru bookstore of rue Joseph-Vallot, facing the brewery l'M, offers a wide range of novels of all kinds, political tests and mountain books: Herzog, Rebuffat, Audibert, Frisian-Roche await you a firm spike. Books on mountaineering, hiking and trekking, BD, topographic maps, atlases, tales and legends or photos… Livres also, with portfolio trips across the mountains of Europe and elsewhere. Because we can be passionate about altitude and cosmopolitan, as long as: the sacred mountains of the Himalayas or the highlands of the Andes have their place on the Étagères shelves as well as the 4000 of the Alps. It is noted that in 2009 the bookshop obtained the label of independent bookstores (ITA) of the Ministry of Culture. It would ultimately be a crime not to stop there.

VOYAGEURS DU MONDE – LA LIBRAIRIE

Travel bookshop
4/5
1 review

We know Voyageurs du Monde for its trips off the beaten track or to dream places, as well as its agencies which alone give a taste for adventure. The address at 55, rue Sainte-Anne used to offer a small selection of books to help you prepare your trip. From now on, Voyageurs du Monde has opened its own bookshop at 48, dedicated to travel, just opposite the eponymous agency. The setting, chic, sober and warm, is worth a visit, with its central spiral staircase as an invitation to travel... On the shelves, literature to prepare your trip, to escape at leisure, to immerse yourself in other lands - it's magical, without a doubt. Travelogues, guidebooks, adventure stories, children's tales from all over the world, texts by the great explorers of yesteryear or contemporary, and even recipe books from the four corners of the globe, the choice is everywhere, the selection rigorous. Comic books are not forgotten, with the best authors of the genre exploring. The advice is present, with 4 passionate globe-trotters who will be happy to guide you in your reading. More than a simple bookshop, the Voyageurs du Monde store regularly organizes conferences and meetings with authors as well as exhibitions of travel photography. You can also find original moleskines to write down your memories. As for the little ones, they are not forgotten with a reading corner specially designed for them. On the website, there is advice for readers before going to the bookstore. What could be more practical, after having chosen your trip at the agency, than to cross the road to find all the possible literature on the destination in question, and novels to accompany your journey?

LE BOOKCROSSING WWW.BOOKCROSSING.COM

To practice this sport in Nîmes or (almost) all around the world, simply deposit a book in a public place, hoping it will be found, read and then released after having been "reported" on the Site. Created in 2001 by Ron Hornbaker, the site keeps track of the books of the book and thus offers successive discoverers and readers the opportunity to comment on it and to link knowledge through countries forums. Thus, the small community of nîmois nîmois leaves regularly forums and keyboards for meet-up, non-virtual meetings at the restaurant or in bars. The book as a means of meeting? Not bad! The bookcrosser may also "release" a book in a public place by hiding it; only the site's regulars will know the cache. There is also bookring, for the most careful: the persons interested in the work register to receive it by mail and form a chain so that the work, once passed in all hands, returns to sender. Excellent all this, but I wonder: bookcrossing, bookcrosser, bookring, book? We talk about French literature, tell me?

One of the great addresses to advise the oeuvre. There is a certain romanticism to devote its space only to old books, to the depleted editions as this shop does.
