The Old Shell is the first workshop dedicated to neoprene and its second life in Brest. The manager, Léa, is passionate about water sports and wants to protect the Breton coasts; her key words are reduce, reuse and recycle. Her workshop offers to repair your wetsuit, to resell it if it is too big or to transform it into a bag, a tote bag or a headband if it is worn. This initiative is both ecological and ethical since it allows you to buy recycled wetsuits, often much more expensive when they are new, at a lower cost.

This recycling shop, located a stone's throw from La Plaine, offers you everything you can imagine to reuse. Ending waste is the idea of the place. Berthel is a place dedicated to crafts and upcycling. With a passion for manual work and a concern for the environment, Berthel's designers give a second life to existing materials. Each month, the space also welcomes three guest artisans, who present their handmade creations from Strasbourg or the surrounding area. Upcycling is not necessarily at the heart of their concept, but Berthel is keen to promote craftsmanship in a more global sense.

In the long street of Verdun, one takes an instant breath when pushing the door of Berthe: the effect is immediate, one wants to buy everything to do good to his house and the planet. Ever heard of upcycling? No ? Well, you're about to discover the concept in this pretty, colorful boutique on the edge of the antique district. Created by the Artecrea collective, the shop sells objects created by a number of local designers, all driven by an eco-citizen philosophy. You'll have a choice of pretty objects made from recycled or organic materials, or certified zero-waste: bags, jewelry or tote bags. You'll come for the permanent designers, you'll come back for the guests.

Specialized in waste trading and recycling, Momo la Recup offers a local service for companies, craftsmen and individuals. The alternative idea that is advocated here? "Nothing is lost, everything is transformed". No more waste but materials recovered and converted into something else. This environmentally friendly approach can only be supported by Le Petit Futé. The recycling section also offers objects for sale, directly from voluntary contributions. A small restoration is even carried out before sale. Please note that at Momo la Recup you can rent a skip, whether you are a professional or a private individual.

In this unique workshop, owners of a bike in bad condition can meet professionals to get the parts they need (nuts, chains, tubes...) to repair their bike! Here, we give you tips on how to repair your bike yourself, using new or used parts. It is even possible to make a personalized bike by subscribing to benefit from a friendly place to play the mechanic, accompanied by the technical support of professionals. The establishment also offers a bistro corner.

Here's a good idea for a recycling center! Two associations, Le TransiStor, (which recycles waste) and solidarité emploi, which hires a dozen people on integration schemes, have opened this place in October 2021. You'll find clothing, household linen and tableware. There's also an "outdoor" and "cultural" themed area, as well as large and small items of furniture and a bookshop. The 1,000^m2 space is managed by two co-directors, Sophie Burel and Galle Mention. 400 kg of donations arrive every day. Recycling agents sort and recycle waste on a daily basis. The space is well laid out. A pretty, committed boutique to visit. Prices are low. Importantly, buying second-hand preserves natural resources, creates local, supportive jobs and extends an object's lifespan. What a bonus!
