In Kibeho, the Virgin Mary, "Mother of the Word", is the voice of Heaven on Rwandan soil. But her message is addressed not only to the Rwandan people, but to all humanity. During the Marian solemnities, over 60,000 Christians, faithful and local visitors gather in Kibeho for the solemn Marian feast, mainly from Rwanda, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania.

Thursday, November 27, 2025: Vigil Mass for the 44th anniversary of Our Lady of Kibeho

At 7 a.m., your professional driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or the airport. He'll be waiting for you in the arrivals hall with a sign marked "ATTRACTIVE SAFARIS". After welcoming you and explaining the program of your pilgrimage, he will take you directly to Kibeho.
After lunch, subject to confirmation, meet and talk with the shrine's rector or the visionary (Nathalie Mukamazimpaka).
Participation in the solemn vigil of the Feast of the Mother of the Word at Kibeho:
4:30pm: Mass for the solemnity of the Marian feast at the site of the apparitions in
6:00 pm: Torchlight procession with the statue of Our Lady of Kibeho.
8:00 pm: Conference - Sacrament of reconciliation - Rosary - Marian prayer vigil
then back to the hotel for dinner (9:00 pm)

After breakfast, from 8:00 to 9:00: discovery of the Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows, prayer at the apparition site, Adoration chapel.
9:00: Sacrament of Reconciliation.
10:00: Rosary of the Seven Sorrows.

after lunch, visit CANA: the Marist Fathers' Marian formation center in Kibeho-Nyarushishi, 2 km from the Kibeho sanctuary, and pray before the statue of Divine Mercy. Since 2004, a giant bronze statue of Merciful Jesus, weighing 2 tonnes and measuring 5 metres in height, has stood in Nyarushishi, at the Marist Fathers' Marian Formation Centre of the Immaculate Conception. This statue has a wonderful story to tell. Since then, a visit to Nyarushishi has become a must for pilgrims coming to Kibeho.

Saturday, November 29, 2025: Discovering the culture and history of Rwanda

After breakfast, return to Kigali. On the way, visit the Butare Ethnographic Museum. This museum is considered one of the finest ethnographic collections in Africa, with works of art and objects accompanied by visual aids, offering visitors a rich insight into Rwandan culture.
After lunch in Butare, drive to Nyanza and visit King Rukari's palace to learn more about the diversity of Rwandan culture and life in years gone by. Then on to Kigali.
