The royal court was the center of an intense cultural and artistic life, with poets, singers and dancers enlivening the royal evenings. Since 2004, a giant bronze statue of the Merciful Jesus, weighing 2 tonnes and measuring 5 metres in height, has stood in Nyarushishi, at the Marian Formation Centre of the Pères Mariaux de l'Immaculée Conception. This statue has a wonderful story to tell. Since then, a visit to Nyarushishi has become a must for pilgrims coming to Kibeho.

Over 40,000 pilgrims come here every first Sunday of the month in search of divine grace. Site visit, conference, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Day 6

Monday, December 1, 2025: Fatima sanctuary and regional volcano discoveries

Morning mass. After breakfast, visit to Ruhengeri Cathedral: meditation and prayer at the shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. At Fatima, the Virgin Mary appeared as a Mother. The children saw her as a very humble and extremely beautiful woman. As Mother, she is the protector of her children. So, since its foundation in 1954, the parish of Ruhengeri has been dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima. When the shrine of Our Lady of Fatima was inaugurated in 2001, the entire diocese was dedicated to this same Mother. And on May 13, 2015, during his pilgrimage to Fatima, the Bishop of the Diocese of Ruhengeri renewed the act of consecration of the diocese to Our Lady of Fatima.

Lunch in Ruhengeri.

After lunch, visit to the volcanic region and the "Iby'iwacu cultural village", with a performance of Rwandan folk dances. A very moving experience of Rwandan tradition, culture and customs.

Return to Kigali.
