A warm welcome at Kigali international airport, followed by a transfer to Akagera National Park. Enjoy a half-day safari before heading to Lake Ihema for a sunset boat trip, ideal for birdwatching and spotting crocodiles, hippos and elephants. Overnight and dinner at Akagera Game Lodge or Ruzizi Tented Lodge.

Full-day safari to Akagera

Steps: Parc National De L'Akagera

After breakfast, set off on a 6-hour safari in Central Africa's largest protected savannah park, home to savannah-adapted species including the famous "Big Five": lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalo. Return to Kigali at the end of the day.

Transfer from Kigali to Nyungwe Forest

Depart for the Nyungwe Forest, one of Africa's oldest tropical forests, rich in biodiversity and spectacular beauty. On the way, visit the King's Palace Museum and the Ethnographic Museum to discover Rwanda's rich cultural heritage and the kingdom's history. Overnight near Nyungwe.
