Pick-up, city tour of Kigali and transfer to hotel
Depending on your arrival time at the airport, our English/French-speaking driver-guide will pick you up. You'll be taken on a city tour of Kigali, where you'll have the opportunity to discover various sites such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Kigali's largest local market called Kimironko, Nyamirambo, where Kigali began to develop, and many other sites of interest to travelers. Afterwards, your Lion Safaris driver-guide will take you to one of the city's best restaurants for lunch. After lunch, you'll be taken to your reserved hotel for check-in, dinner and overnight stay.
Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

In the morning, after breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, a Lion Safaris driver-guide will pick you up and take you to Nyungwe National Park in south-west Rwanda. En route, you'll stop to visit the Royal Palace Museum in the Southern Province. Here you'll learn about the history of traditional Rwandan lifestyles and their ancient system of royal leadership, while enjoying lunch en route. You'll continue your journey to Nyungwe National Park, where you'll spend the evening enjoying dinner and overnight at your reserved lodge.
Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walks

After an early breakfast, you'll set off on a chimpanzee trek. Nyungwe is a vast mountain rainforest covering over 1000 km². It is home to 13 species of primate, over 275 species of bird and 100 varieties of orchid. After your trek, your driver-guide will take you back to the lodge for lunch. Next, you'll enjoy an excursion to the Canopy Walk, a suspension bridge at the top of the park where visitors can walk and enjoy the breathtaking views. At the end of the day, you'll be taken back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

In the morning, after breakfast, you'll check out and a Lion Safaris driver-guide will pick you up to take you to the north-west of Rwanda, where Volcanoes National Park is located. Along the way, you'll enjoy the beautiful rolling hills that characterize this region. On arrival, you'll check into your reserved lodge for dinner and overnight.
Mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park

You'll wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, then head to park headquarters for a briefing on how to behave in the presence of gorillas. Then it's off on the trek to meet the mountain gorillas. After this exceptional adventure, you'll enjoy lunch and then visit the twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo. At the end of the day, your driver-guide will take you back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Transfer to Akagera National Park + Boat trip on Lake Ihema

Early in the morning, after breakfast, a driver-guide will pick you up at 8:00 am and drive you to Akagera National Park. On arrival, you'll check into your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you'll set off on a boat trip on Lake Ihema, where you can observe water birds, crocodiles and hippos. After this fascinating experience, you'll be taken back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
All-day vehicle safari in Akagera National Park + Night safari
Steps: Parc National De L'Akagera
After breakfast at your lodge, you'll set off on a game drive in Akagera National Park. You'll have the opportunity to see many wild animals in their natural habitat. At the end of the day, you'll return to the lodge to prepare for a night safari, where you'll have the chance to observe nocturnal animals such as leopards, hyenas, jackals and many others. After this unique experience, you'll be driven back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Back to Kigali
In the morning, after breakfast, you'll check out and be picked up by a Lion Safaris driver-guide. You'll begin your return journey to Kigali, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel, home or at the airport to catch your flight home.
