Mikumi National Park was established in1964 covering an area of 1070 square kilometers; it was later extended in 1975 to cover the current area of 3,230 square kilometers. Mikumi National Park is sharing a common border and ecosystem with Nyerere National Park to the south. The park is the seventh largest National Park in Tanzania and the most accessible from Dar es Salaam throughout the year.

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi NP for Afternoon Game Drive
Steps: Mikumi National Park
Your driver guide will pick you from your hotel in Dar es Salaam at 07:00 of ferry port at 08:45 and start driving to Mikumi National Park which is approximately 5 to 6 hours’ drive. You will stop on the way for hot lunch. After lunch you will drive to Mikumi.
On arrival you will have a short rest then you will visit Maasai Tribe. Today you will get the chance to visit Maasai Tribe to see how they live and get the history of their tribe. You will get the chance to participate in their traditional dance.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Mikumi NP
Steps: Mikumi National Park
After breakfast you will go out for full day game drive in Mikumi National Park with option of packed lunch box or hot lunch in one of the lodges inside the park. Late afternoon you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Animals commonly found in this park Include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra and elephants and many more. Wild dog can be seen in packs here. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain. Over 300 species of birds have been observed in this park.

Day 3: Mikumi NP to Dar es Salaam
Steps: Dar Es Salaam
Wake up for early breakfast. After breakfast you will start driving to Dar es Salaam. You will stop on the way for lunch. After lunch you will drive to Dar es Salaam.
On arrival your driver guide will drop you off at your hotel in Dar es Salaam or ferry port for last ferry to Zanzibar which depart at 1600h.
