Your guide and driver will pick you up at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport or at your hotel in Addis Ababa, and the tour will start between 7 and 8 am. Guassa is a large protected area (100 square kilometers) that is a nature park. For 400 years, it has been traditionally protected by local people as a nature reserve for a local grass, "guassa", which is used to make the roofs of local huts. The region is rich in flora and fauna and renowned for its incredible mountain scenery.
