Day 1: Montevideo

Arrival in Montevideo in the morning. Visit of the historical district in the afternoon.

Day 2: Continuation of the visit of the capital

Steps: Montevideo

Visit of parks, beaches and other neighborhoods of Montevideo(Carrasco and Pocitos in particular).

Day 3: Punta del Este

Steps: Punta Ballena, Atlántida, Piriapolis, Punta Del Este, La Barra - Manantiales

Rent a car to go to Punta del Este along the beaches(Atlántida, Piriápolis, Casapueblo...). Enjoy a swim in the ocean and sleep in Punta del Este or La Barra (right next door).

Day 4: José Ignacio

Steps: José Ignacio, La Paloma, La Pedrera, Laguna Garzón

After La Barra (stores, flea markets...), we go to José Ignacio, a posh but discreet village, sheltering a beautiful lighthouse and a wild coast, then direction laguna Garzón (we pass on a free ferry) and La Paloma. Sleep either in La Paloma (playa La Aguada) or in La Pedrera (30 minutes from La Paloma).

Day 5: Cabo Polonio

Steps: Cabo Polonio, Punta Del Diablo

Early departure for Cabo Polonio (take a truck at the entrance of the biodiversity reserve). On the program: stroll, lazing on the beach. At the end of the day, we will go to Punta del Diablo for its beauty and its atmosphere, and we will spend the night there.

Day 6: Fort and fortress

Steps: Parque Nacional San Miguel, Parque Nacional De Santa Teresa, Chuy

Take the direction of Chuy, stop at the fort of San Miguel, then we will visit the fortress of Santa Teresa and return to Punta del Diablo at the end of the day.

Day 7: Minas

Steps: Minas

To take height and to leave towards Minas. In the evening we will sleep in an estancia.

Day 8: On the road

Steps: Colonia Del Sacramento

Continue the "great crossing" of Uruguay; from Minas, reach Colonia del Sacramento.

Day 9: Colonia del Sacramento

A day on site to visit the historic heart of the city, along its ramparts and the bay.

Day 10: Back

Return from Colonia or Montevideo (2.5 hours drive from Colonia).
