Detail of the stay : On the footsteps of Elvis, between Oahu and Kauai - 4 days
Day 1: Arrival in Oahu
Steps: Honolulu
Upon arrival in Honolulu, visit the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel where Elvis performed his "Aloha from Hawaii" concert in 1973, then head to the Ala Moana neighborhood and swim at Ala Moana Beach where footage from the 1961 film Blue Hawaii was shot.
Day 2: Hanauma Bay
Steps: Honolulu, Pearl Harbor
We will also spend a day on the crystalline Hanauma Bay because it is there that many scenes of Blue Hawaii (1961) were shot. Then, visit the Pearl Harbor Memorial where Elvis gave a concert in 1961, before going to the heights of Honolulu to visit the Art Museum and follow the Tantalus Drive that the King crosses in Blue Hawaii.
HONOLULU MUSEUM OF ART
Day 3: East Coast and Kualoa Ranch
We will go then on the east coast to make a stroll with horse to Kualoa Ranch. Just across the street is the islet Mokolii, also called "Chinaman's Hat" because of its conical shape: it was the location of part of the filming of Paradise Hawaiian Style. Visit the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie and see the show. Many scenes from Paradise Hawaiian Style were filmed there, including the one where Elvis performs This is my heaven. Return to Honolulu at the end of the day to catch a flight to Kauai.
POLYNESIAN CULTURAL CENTER
Day 4: Lihue
Steps: Lihue, Wailua State Park, Kapaa, Kilauea
We change island, but not theme: on Kauai, take the road and follow the east coast to the north until Wailua State Park. Visit the Kamokila Hawaiian Village and rent a kayak to take a trip on the Wailua River to the Fern Grotto. This river was featured in several sequences of the 1961 film Blue Hawaii . On the way back to Lihue, cool off at Lydgate Beach, also featured in the film. Return to the east coast, north of Lihue, and spend the day at the beautiful beaches that stretch from Kapaa to Kilauea. One of them, Anahola Beach, is also featured in Blue Hawaii.
