Day 1: First Steps in New York

To immerse yourself in New York as soon as possible, start your day with a visit to St Paul's Chapel adjacent to Broadway, where photos and testimonies give eternal homage to the victims. Go to the City Hall and at the foot of the Woolworth Building. Then, get down along Broadway to Battery Park. You will cross on the road, for a glance or a visit, New York Stock Exchange and the Federal Hall, Museum of Jewish Heritage of Battery Park. From there, embark on the ferry for the {7}Statue of Liberty{/7} and Ellis Island, a small island through which the ancestors of a quarter of the American population from all over the world have been transferred. On the way back, take a walk through the South Street Seaport, along and around Fulton Street and Fish market, one of the oldest neighbourhoods in New York City and Mafia's major place. Dinner in and exit in chic Soho or the most bohemian .

Day 2: Outsized urban planning

After a passage to the Flatiron Building, climb the Empire State Building summit for one of the world's most incredible views. Climb 5th Avenue to the Chrysler Building, the Art Deco jewel, and walk to the Rockefeller Center. To discover: its Channel Gardens, its statue of Prometheus and its Lower Plaza, where in winter there is a giant Christmas tree and a huge rink. From there, a detour is necessary for a visit of the freshly renovated . Go down to at night. You're in the midst of a great and huge debauchery of billboards. Lights sparkle everywhere. Day 3: Culture and nature

What better, to start your day, than a long walk in Central park, the lung of New York? You can even rent a bicycle to go around it (this would not take you a whole day to do it on foot). Then, head to the Museum Mile (in the Upper East Side), where about fifteen superb museums follow one another along the park, on 1,5km. The most famous of them, the Frick Collection, Neue Galerie or American Museum of Natural History, on the other side of the park, will make you enjoy in a fun way its ipriceless collection. You can spread a more extensive visit to the Museum Mile over two days. You will not regret it.

Day 4: Ethnic neighbourhoods and shopping

After the splendour of the museums and the large tourist areas, hiking in the makes you have a little break and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of these neighbourhoods. Start by having a meal in one of the Deli typical of the corner, and then explore this multi-ethnic neighbourhood (Eastern European Jewish) south of the Lower East Side, Polish and Ukrainian to 2nd Avenue, Indian on Curry Row). Many second-handed, young designers, decoration and antique shops await you. Return to the west and stroll through Chinatown (abounding in activity) and Little Italy (suspended and elegant shops). It's an ideal way to nicely finish the world tour in a day.

Day 5: Middle Ages, Harlem and Upper West Side

Start your day north of Manhattan (in the Washington Heights area), where the Cloisters museum (190th Street) is located, entirely dedicated to the Middle Ages. A jewel whose setting is made of charming gardens. Go down to the campus of Columbia University, one of the most prestigious faculties in the United States. Finish your day with a stroll around the Upper West Side.

Day 6: Brooklyn

The diversity of this suburb of Manhattan deserves the day. The atmosphere is different, quieter and more relaxing. Cross the emblematic early in the morning. You will see two Bohemian neighbourhoods populated by artists: (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) and . Lunch break. Visit of , of which the esplanade, recently renovated and resolutely modern, contrasts with the rest of the building. Not to be missed: the collection on ancient Egypt, one of the most beautiful in the world. Continue your day by visiting the adjacent and beautiful (to be admired: a rose garden of breathtaking beauty, especially in June), before taking a last stroll in old area (near Brooklyn Bridge), where the buildings are among the most beautiful in the city. Walk along the promenade that faces Downtown's buildings, and admire a spectacular sunset.

Day 7: Greenwich Village and Chelsea

Last day. Relaxation, informal walks in the very endearing and intimate area of Greenwich Village. Visit the Meatpacking District, a district that stands out between the old meat stores and expensive trendy shops, and discovery of Chelsea to finish. Back to the hotel and head to the airport.
