Day 1: Between Victorian charm and contemporary skyline

Steps: Toronto

After starting your day with a coffee in Cabbagetown, a short stroll will allow you to discover the narrow streets lined with Victorian houses in one of Toronto's most charming neighbourhoods. Then, take a streetcar (tramway) to go to the CN Tower, whose lift will allow you to climb up to the belvedere which offers a unique view of the city and the region. On a clear day, you can see the eddies of Niagara Falls. Then head to St. Lawrence Market for lunch and explore the alleys of this historic market. In the early afternoon, head for Harbourfront, on the shores of Lake Ontario, and take the ferry to spend part of the afternoon in the Toronto Island Park. Beautiful views of the skyscrapers of the city await you. Finally, head for Kensington Market to end the day by pacing up and down the small vintage shops before going for dinner in a restaurant of Baldwin Village.

Day 2: Cultural discovery and trendy shopping

Steps: Toronto

Spend the morning visiting one of the city's two most notable museums: Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) or Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). If you have some time left, end the morning by walking in the streets of the nearby Yorkville neighbourhood, to get acquainted with the customs of Toronto's high society. Take the metro then a streetcar to have lunch in Distillery District, the former industrial district of the city converted into a walk district. Pace up and down the neighbourhood and its art galleries in the early afternoon, then take public transportation to visit the Queen West district, its trendy shops and its comfortable cafés. Alternatively, stay for dinner in the surrounding areas, or go up a few streets north for dinner in Chinatown.
