Day 1: Historical Santiago
Steps: Santiago De Chile
Landing in Santiago de Chile, the capital of Chile "which never sleeps". A visit to the historic Bellavista district is essential. Who wouldn't appreciate a Pisco sour - national cocktail - in a trendy place in the heart of colonial buildings? For the evening meal, it is difficult to find a better idea than the Mercado Central (central market) where in the plates sea spiders mix with fresh fish. Enjoy your meal!
MERCADO CENTRAL
Day 2: Wine tasting in the Casablanca Valley
Steps: Valparaíso
Santiago de Chile. Halfway between Santiago and Valparaiso, a stop in one of Chile's most famous wine-growing regions is a must. Here, you have the choice between a wide variety of red and white wines, a legacy of the colonial era. Take your time and wander through the heart of the arid valleys - a real change of scenery! - from central Chile before heading back to Valparaiso.
Day 3: In the footsteps of Pablo Neruda in Valparaiso
Steps: Valparaíso
Valparaiso. Go up the steep alleys of Cerro (hill) Florida to find La Sebastiana, one of the three houses of the late poet Pablo Neruda, a legend in Latin America. The house is perfectly preserved and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. In the afternoon, wander through the streets of Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepción, two hills that form the historical and artistic heart of the city. The view of the old port is fully recommendable.

Day 4: Discovering the funiculars of Valparaiso
Valparaiso. Head north to the north of the city and take the funicular railway "Artillería". It is one of the oldest funicular railway lines in the city, a legacy of the colonial era. It will take you to one of the many hills of Valparaiso, which will offer you an incredible view of the port of Valparaiso. It is common to meet painters or musicians who are inspired by the landscape. Then, discover the Place d'Armes - going there by tramway is an excellent idea.
Day 5: Travel to La Serena
Steps: La Serena
Valparaiso. Back on the roads, head north. About 5 hours of travel connect Valparaiso and La Serena, once a land of pirates and now a must for its colonial district. Visit the local craft market - filled with treasures from the Altiplano - and walk barefoot on the pretty beach. Pure relaxation.
Day 6: Elqui Valley
Steps: La Serena, Pisco Elqui
The Serena. Head to the Andes mountain range to find a buried treasure: the Elqui Valley. In Pisco Elqui, you can't miss the visit of a local "pisquera", the secret places in which one of Chile's specialities, Pisco (a wine brandy), is conceived. In the evening, indulge in astronomy by visiting the Cerro Tololo Observatory. This is one of the most famous places in the world to observe the stars!
OBSERVATOIRE CERRO TOLOLO
Day 7: Cochiquaz Valley
Steps: La Serena, Pisco Elqui
Pisco Elqui. In the depths of the Elqui Valley, let yourself be surprised by the local wine and take the time to practice yoga with one of the local instructors. Valle del Elqui is the Chilean capital of yoga, and practicing it under the Milky Way is made possible with one of the clearest skies in the world. Go for a short hike along the mountains to get the perfect postcard of the Elqui Valley before returning to La Serena.
Day 8: From La Serena to the house
Steps: La Serena
The Serena. Take the Pan American and head south along the Pacific Ocean to return home quietly after a devilishly restful stay!
