Day 1: The time of the visit

A beautiful day of visits awaits you. Start your itinerary in Château-Thierry, the birthplace of Jean de la Fontaine, whose birthplace you can still visit. From the ramparts of the castle to the city center, via the banks of the Marne, the city is well worth a visit. Then take the road to visit the villages of Montreuil-aux-Lions, Saâcy-sur-Marne and Crouttes-sur-Marne. You will be able to admire on your way the beauty of the wooded hillsides and vineyards, as well as beautiful preserved monuments: old wash houses, churches of the ^18th century...

Day 2: Tasting time

Steps: Charly-Sur-Marne

Time to enjoy! If you're a fan of slow tourism, rent a bike from Sports Passion in Brasles, a fifteen-minute walk from the center. Start the day with a visit and tasting at the Maison Pannier cellars in Château-Thierry. Then head for Charly-sur-Marne along the banks of the Marne, which are easy to navigate and quite safe. A cycle route has been created in the Marne Valley. In the vineyards, you can opt for a second visit to the cellars, with Maison Leguillette-Remelot. Another more sporty option is a 55-kilometre cycling loop, "L'Aisne à vélo: des fables et du Champagne", available on the Randonner.fr website.
