Located on the edge of the most prosperous shopping and leisure centre in Prague. The two floors allow groups of friends or families with children to enjoy the children's corner. Unique selection of organic and fresh fruits and vegetables, different kinds of organic coffees and desserts, milk-shake, excellent organic wines, sandwiches and salads. Non-smoking area, children corner and free internet access (Wi-fi).

A medieval restaurant, a little overrated, but entertaining. The waiters are in traditional clothes, the women in corset, the men in garter. Wine and beer flow freely, accompanied by good, hearty dishes. The room in the basement is even more typical. Medieval menu on Friday evening with fire-eaters, Roma dancers, medieval buffet, wine and beer at will (reservation required). We come here as much for the atmosphere as for food, more Moravian than medieval. In short, a good place to spend an entertaining evening.

Located on the ground floor of the Šternberk Palace National Gallery, this cafe offers a great opportunity to take a break in the middle of the city's most tourist area to take a zákusek (dessert) or to take advantage of the light lunch menu, which is the most affordable in the area.

Admittedly, Slovak cuisine is not very "exotic" for the Czechs. However, it can be described as even more rustic. So to taste some of the other specialities of the other half of the former Czechoslovakia, come and take a tour and discover the delicious halušký and the beers from there.

A small, simple and unpretentious restaurant frequented by all Zižkov; blue cols, humanitarian, artists and dynamic frames rush every lunchtime to taste the specialities of the day at very small prices (around 75 Kč). In the evening, we eat more refined food. Excellent value for money and a hétéroclite atmosphere. Beergarden at the back open in summer.

A good address for typical dishes from Korea (especially) and Japan (a little) at very reasonable prices (it is rare enough to be reported). Look at how the "real" Koreans do with their rich pibimbap (beef or fish, rice, soybeans, raw egg, vegetables to mix), and do the same. Sushi is very correct.

It's a good idea to show up at the "Moulin", one of the most popular and best-rated tables in the capital. We are here just a stone's throw from the Charles Bridge, in Malá Strana, the view from the terrace is superb. Chef Vladimír Vaníček prepares and revives Czech and international cuisine of the highest quality. The Czech tasting menu offers Prague ham, duck leg confit and, last but not least, an appetizing chocolate cabbage. The products are seasonal and local. The prices remain very reasonable for the quality of the place.

A good address if you live or visit the area. The decor is basic, but lunch is often full: young people, workers, businessmen... the clientele is varied. The Czech map is in the form of a newspaper, but there is also a map in English. It is hearty, good and served very quickly. Try for example the caribbic chicken cutlet with processed cheese and... peaches. If you feel like it, you'll only have to take a step to listen to DJs or music bands in the adjacent bar, open until dawn on the weekend.

Certainly the best address for pastry lovers. This superb store, decorated in mosaics, will delight you with its delicious salads and sandwiches made with local produce, as well as its first-rate French pastries to be enjoyed in the tearoom. You'll also find excellent jam, sold in jars: an original souvenir or a tasty gift. Impossible to resist the various cakes, tarts and other delicacies. Don't hesitate to visit for breakfast.

A friendly atmosphere and family management will be at your disposal for lunch or dinner in this typically Czech hostel, and certainly one of the best establishments in town for years. A rustic food that accompanies a rustic décor. Many well prepared Bohemian and Moravian specialities served in generous portions. In this brewery, beer has been homemade for centuries! Large number of tourists in summer. Try to settle in the courtyard in summer if the interior becomes too noisy for your taste.

In the famous club of the same name with its exceptional decor, there is an excellent restaurant, which also makes coffee and a bar. Beyond the offbeat and alternative setting, Cross Club Café offers an original and healthy cuisine, a mix of Czech and Mediterranean influences, even if burgers finally dominate. Vegetarians and vegans will also find something to eat with delicious and carefully prepared dishes. A very nice address for a good quality/price ratio.

As in the other establishments of the Bottega franchise, the à la carte menu features fine Italian gastronomic specialties: spaghetti vongole, octopus, fresh ravioli, involtini... You'll spend a pleasant moment enjoying the industrial decor and its large volumes, seated on beautiful wooden chairs or comfortable sofas overlooking the bay windows. The service is impeccable, the food fresh and the wine list well worth exploring for its Italian labels. A great success.

The daily specials are cheap, the bill climbs a little faster for the a la carte menu, but in any case, it's fresh, copious and well prepared. You enter through the butcher's department (where you can choose your pieces of meat if you have come for that), then you go to the self-service area: on the left the kitchens, on the right the bar. Just punch in and take, the staff ticks off your consos and you pay as you leave. Simple, efficient, cheap and, inevitably, crowded at meal times. Make sure you make a reservation if you want to dine there.

A restaurant out of the ordinary. In a space of several hundred square meters, the restaurant is organized around a miniature rail network, on which trains of all kinds move. Their role: to transport orders from the kitchens to the tables! You'll be served by miniature trains, bringing you burgers, meats, soups, sandwiches and cold drinks. A fun and successful concept!

It's not easy to find a "real" Mexican restaurant in Prague. Unfortunately, we often get tex-mex, more Tex than Mex. Things are changing since l'ouverture from Las Adelitas, run by Mexicans. They are real professionals who know what they are doing. Their freshly prepared margaritas are fantastic, especially the mango one. Try enchiladas rochas, they are delicious, served with beans, rice and a tasty red sauce. L'endroit is small and user-friendly. The success is there, so booking is recommended.

Located on the seventh floor of the Dancing House, overlooking the Vltava River, this restaurant offers a splendid view of the Castle and the National Theater. Ginger & Fred's reputation is built on its superb contemporary decor and renowned cuisine. Chef Rudolf Doležal offers refined French-influenced gastronomy with a menu that changes four times a year, and excellent homemade ice creams in summer. All in all, a delicious culinary experience in a dream setting. A dinner at nightfall, with a view over the city, is unbelievable!

Ideally located at the foot of the Gothic tower of the Charles Bridge, this charming restaurant offers a varied menu with the classics of local cuisine and a wine list of good invoices. The interior room is located in a historic building which is an integral part of a UNESCO protected area.

La Finestra, opened in 2009, is Italian chef Riccardo Lucque's second restaurant. Just 2 minutes from Old Town Square, this establishment specializes in meat dishes. The cuisine is refined, the décor rustic and sophisticated, and you can watch chef Tomáš Černý from a kitchen that opens onto the dining room. In addition to the culinary experience, this upscale restaurant is building the largest Italian wine cellar in the Czech Republic. A must for quality lovers.

This restaurant comes out of the beaten trails… and it is worth a look. The map offers a selection of local and international dishes and the interior decor of the 1930 s is a delight, especially on Wednesdays and Thursdays evenings when a pianist contributes to the charm of your evening. The chef's speciality, also owner of the premises, is the seafood dish that you can sprinkle with quality wines. A place not to miss to enjoy another Prague.

Reading "fast food", you might expect something warm and tasteless. But the tasting plate, for example, includes tandoori chicken with an excellent sauce accompanied by a delicious basmati rice, a cheese naan, as well as a dairy sauce and a salad. The menu is very affordable and offers very good quality products, prepared to order and served with a smile on impeccably maintained tables. Only the speed of the service actually evokes the world of fast food, the rest is worthy of a very good restaurant!

A nice place to eat Czech specialities on the way to the castle. It is obviously very touristic, so avoid menus or garnished dishes that will be either bland or very long to be served, but do not hesitate to sit down for a beer and some Czech-style snacks: ustopenec or hermelin are well done and are a treat to be enjoyed on the terrace dominated by the impressive silhouette of the castle. Also some rooms, but very expensive in high season.

A few years ago, one of the biggest importers of Italian products opened this unusual address, a little Italian grocery store, a little wine bar, a little restaurant, and a little fresh produce market, which will seduce all lovers of Italian gastronomy and cuisine! A good place to eat paninis or pasta dishes on the go, as well as to prepare the perfect aperitif: cheeses and wines and delicatessen from all over Italy: Parmesan, coppa, Parma ham, make your choice according to your appetite.

An excellent small unpretentious restaurant nestled in a quiet street behind Charles Square, Jiná Krajina offers an original menu with many vegetarian, organic and gluten-free options. Good choice of soft drinks. Calm and pleasant, it is an opportunity to get away from the tourist crowd without getting too far from the main attractions. Inside the room, the bright colours contribute to the overall relaxed and warm atmosphere of the place. A second address has opened in the trendy district of Vršovice.

In an intimate and comfortable setting, with an eclectic decor, you are invited to eat from morning to evening. The kitchen, which opens onto the room, adds to the friendliness of the place. Very nice breakfast packages from 6:30 am. And all day long, pizzas, mezze, goulash, burgers... the choice is varied. Just want a gourmet break? All the delicious Czech pastries with a good coffee will do! By adding the local beer that flows freely, you have everything you need to bite into Prague's life.

Food Lab explores international culinary influences to create original recipes, very fine or gourmet, available in several flavours and served in small tapas-style portions. Seafood is in the spotlight with beautiful octopus recipes on a bed of sweet potatoes with Madras curry and desserts will visit the best specialities, such as these Catalan creams worked with three flavours. As for the decoration, there is nothing to complain about, large spaces with a slightly industrial influence, bright and warm where you immediately feel at ease.

Fresh products, daily recipes: burgers made with beef, fish or chicken are prepared with as much passion as talent. The local does not look like much, with its few tables lined up a little sadly along the bar, but the aroma emanating from the kitchens is not misleading: the lunch break can only be successful! In addition to burgers, depending on the market of the day, there are also some very successful Czech beef and pork recipes, as well as fresh pasta and salads for smaller stomachs.

You enter this restaurant as you would enter your home. A dream home, where the warm white and grey decoration seems to fade away to better highlight the design objects that adorn every corner of the establishment. On the restaurant side, we spend a very good time in a room where the tables are well spaced in the interior room, the veranda or even the small secret garden, open to the sunny days. Cuisine dominated by Czech cuisine but made with lightness and carefully selected products. To be demanding without paying too much!

Regular guests usually visit this hostel early, before going to a concert or opera, so the tables are more lively between 6pm and 7.30pm than later in the evening. In any case, you will have a good time eating, especially if you are a carnivore: the owners of the establishment started their business with a butcher shop, and the animals always come from their own farm. In burgers or more typically Czech recipes, the common point is above all the generosity of the portions!

A very beautiful tavern, traditional in form but resolutely modern in layout and decoration. On three floors, the wooden tables on a stone and brick wall welcome a local clientele who let themselves be served before ordering a pint of beer brewed on site in the large copper tanks that cannot be missed when entering the establishment. The traditional cuisine is robust and generous, mainly of Czech inspiration: soups, duck, cabbage... An excellent base for a solid lunch.

It's a UFO on the Prague culinary scene, initiated by the team at Dégustation Bohème Bourgeoise, the city's iconic Michelin-starred restaurant. Everything about the place exudes creativity: the access via a back door, the setting (a large circular table around the open kitchen), but above all it's the concept that's brilliant. Dishes are served without presentation, the team revealing the contents of the plate and the techniques used after each tasting. A high-flying cuisine and an extraordinary experience.

It has been a long time since we decided not to recommend a restaurant in the Place de la Vieille Ville because of the widespread use of tourist attractions. It must be said that this new establishment plays another card: that of quality and authenticity. Simple and modern décor, classic recipes but not bourratives, friendly service, neither too slow nor too fast, rare in the district... Everything contributes to a lunch break (lunch menus are a bargain!) or a successful dinner in the most beautiful square of the city!

Around the concept of Chlebičeks, Sisters has developed a nice sign. The produce is fresh, you order a little bit of everything tapas-style, and you get your fill for less than nothing. The classic little Czech appetizer sandwiches have been brought back into fashion, with slightly more trendy, fragrant, spicy and worked toppings. A tasty success! Please note that the sandwiches are now available for delivery or takeaway only. You can find another address in Nové Město, precisely at Spálená 75/16.

If you are looking to get off the beaten track around Vyšehrad Castle, this is the perfect place for a short stop during the day. More than a century of traditions! They prepare very good Czech specialties here (roast duck in the spotlight of course) at reasonable prices and in generous portions, often much better than in downtown restaurants. Of course, they serve delicious craft beer. A small, friendly restaurant with about 100 seats for a very local experience!

You'd almost walk past it without seeing it, so tiny and discreet is the space. But walking through the door is well worth it: the décor is uncluttered, very chic and relaxing, and you can wait while you study the menu, which is brimming with fresh, seasonal produce for both carnivores and vegetarians. Dishes are presented with care, and the menu changes daily according to market finds and the chef's inspiration. In the adjacent gallery, contemporary Czech artists exhibit their work, which can be enjoyed as an appetizer.

If you're in the neighborhood for a visit to Vyšehrad, this is a great spot with good Czech recipes and a range of vegetarian dishes. The daily menu is a bargain, but the a la carte prices go up rather quickly on the best specialties. That said, the portions are generous and the quality is good. Victim of its success and its location, the establishment is quickly sold out and a phone call to reserve the day before is highly recommended, but you can also go through its website.

SaSaZu is first and foremost a concept: a former warehouse in the Prague market, in the northern district of Holešovice, converted into a high-end Asian restaurant and mega-club. This alone explains the gentrification of the district. Then there's the cuisine. Rather, five cuisines and cooking methods imported from the four corners of Asia: sambal, otak otak, Wok, roti and Thai. It's delicious and particularly authentic for Prague. Last but not least, SaSaZu is a unique place: a classy Asian decor and a fine cocktail menu.

Sushi restaurants have become a legion in recent years in Prague, becoming increasingly popular with Czechs and tourists alike. But The Sushi Bar remains THE first sushi restaurant in Prague (opened in 1999) and remains one of the best in the city. Not surprising when you see the beautiful fish from the adjoining fish shop: everything is attractive! We find all the classic sashimi, sushi and maki with some creative surprises. Impeccable hygiene and top-of-the-range service. A sure thing for a Japanese moment.

One of the newest and already one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Prague, rare in the city centre, hidden in a small alley behind Notre-Dame du Týn. The menu oscillates between dishes with Mexican and Asian influences, but the menu is regularly reviewed according to the seasons and arrivals, often organic. Soup of the day is always a good choice as well as quesadillas, burritos or the (not "the") roasted goat. A very good address in the heart of the Old City, from which even carnivores will come out satisfied.

An oyster bar in Prague? It's possible! It's possible! Marennes d'Oléron, Gillardeau, Tsarskaya (from the bay of Mont Saint-Michel), la Cadoret... we find many oysters from our coasts in this chic, sober restaurant, a stone's throw from the Place de la Vieille Ville. A fine selection of caviar too, to be enjoyed with champagne glasses, also very varied. We especially appreciate their roll of lobster, delicious, and the real bouillabaisse. A beautiful address that can however quickly hurt your wallet. For amateurs ready for anything!

An ideal restaurant for Asian carnivores: some will come for Kobe meat (be careful, prices rise quickly, from 90 € to 165 €), others for the tender pieces of Wagyu or Argentine beef, more accessible. We enjoy these delicious pieces of beef, served with a choice of sauces, vegetables or kimchi. But as in any self-respecting Japanese restaurant, sushi and sashimi are also in the spotlight. Special mention for the sauces, very well worked. It's sober, elegant and very good

Hard to believe: a real Belgian brewery in the heart of Prague. Fresh mussels come daily from the port of Logstor (Denmark). The brewery therefore offers mussels in all their forms (marinières, garlic, celery mussels, Thai mussels, Provençal mussels...) as well as shrimps, lobsters and oysters (in season) and delicious fish dishes. A great place for those who would like to change a little bit of Czech cuisine and rediscover the taste of iodine. Good white wines accompany the dishes of the day.

Near the rotunda of Sainte-Croix, in a peaceful corner of the Old Town and three steps from the Vltava, a well-worked setting ideal for a romantic dinner around original recipes concocted with passion and named after famous people. Try "Somerset Maugham" pepper steak or "Louis Armstrong" orange filet mignon medallions. The polenta that accompanies most dishes is a success of its kind and a pleasant change from potato bread. Most of the recipes are Italian-inspired.

A decor without frills, but where one could spend hours reading (in Czech) the press clippings glued to the walls and dedicated to poetry and Bohuslav Balbín, who gave his name to several kavarna in the capital. This one is discreet but particularly pleasant with its large tables arranged in a space where the volumes under the brick ceiling are appreciable. Soups and daily specials are as hearty and tasty as they are cheap, even if you obviously don't come here for gastronomy.

A crowded bar, large tables serving pints and fried cheeses like fajitas: don't come here to treat your cholesterol! The clientele of regulars comes here to eat as much as to share beers in the evening, and the pop atmosphere is good at all hours. As for the dishes, nothing really extraordinary, but honest recipes and hearty portions make for a complete meal with a drink at a reasonable price - what more could you ask for? Come early on sports nights, as the tables fill up even faster.

A new tapas restaurant in the heart of Vinohrady that has attracted many fans. It must be said that this type of address is rare in the area. The recipes go far beyond the simple framework of traditional tapas to explore the full potential of Czech or other products, with the full range of oriental spices. Tempura vegetables with wasabi, giant prawns grilled in white wine, fried olives... Everything is fresh and original. A very good neighbourhood address with a beautiful wine list and excellent coffee shops.

Above the excellent Eska café-bakery, one of Prague's most ambitious eateries has just opened: Štangl. The Ambiente Group is behind it, of course, with chef Martin Štangl at the helm. The setting is modern and elegant: a dozen tables around an open kitchen. The culinary approach strikes a balance between tradition and innovation, with numerous references to Czech cuisine and bold, creative creations. Throughout the meal, it's an experience of discovery and wonder.

Restaurant, guesthouse and club, Sklep has a bit of everything and has consequently become the haunt of students from the nearby University of Economics, who come here to eat at low prices. Excellent, hearty Czech food is served, as well as international dishes with an Asian flavour. The neighborhood swears by their roast duck and garlic soup! The restaurant also boasts a pleasant tropical veranda. The selection of beers is also very tempting, and kegs are on tap until late at night on weekends.
