Fishing is in honor but today the festival has expanded to include a number of aquatic activities, exhibitions of agricultural products and folklore, but above all rumba and beer! Attention to the crowd. A traditional adage during this festival says that whoever eats sapoara on that day will stay in Guyana and that if he eats his head he will be married to a Guyanese woman.
