Establishment formerly used as a meeting place to receive grievances and host important discussions.

The Majilis Ghorfat Umm Al Sheef was built in 1955 in an area that not so long ago was only an area planted with date palms and fishermen's huts. This 'summer residence' of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, served as a meeting place to receive grievances and to shelter important discussions during the delicate period when the emirates sealed their confederation. The house was therefore not intended to be inhabited.
