The Dubai Marathon now takes place in January in Dubai. It welcomes many of the world's best-known athletes.

Since 2000, the Dubai Marathon has taken place every year and has become one of the fastest in the world. The mild January temperatures, the race's flat route through central Dubai and the $200,000 prize money for the first-place runner attract participants from all over the world, including many renowned athletes. It also offers a unique opportunity to discover Dubai and its iconic landmarks. Starting at dawn from Umm Suqeim, it ends mid-morning at the same point, passing through Jumeirah Beach and Burj Al Arab.
